We’ve been on half term all week and it started with our first adventure of the year. We went glamping for the first and had a wonderful time. The girls loved staying in a yurt and we had some great days out.
Alice brought the worst witch this week and we’ve been reading it together. I remember it very fondly as a child and I love now reading with my daughter.
In our yurt there was a large window at the top and we led on our bed and watched the stars. It was really peaceful and calming. To be by our roaring fire, glazing at the stars was pretty special.
Laughter! We laughed a lot this week, but the best laughs came when we were at Corfe Castle, which is stunning by the way. When we arrived they told us there was a teddy bear zip wire and the girls were very excited. They choose their teddy bears, which were wearing a little harness.
We then climbed to the top of the castle, where there was a rope to attached the teddy to and watch him go all the way to the bottom. I think it’s a genius idea and lots of fun. The girls were shrieking with laughter watching the teddies go down.
When I asked Alice what she would like to do over half term, she asked to have a day at home to do some baking. Which wasn’t a big surprise, she loves to bake.
We made cupcakes and cookies. Both girls had great fun making them, but I failed and didn’t take a photo before they ate them (oops!).
Alice wore a gappy smile today because she lost her first tooth. It’s been wobbly for months and she has been patiently waiting for it fall out. She was very excited and once I’ve finished writing this post I will be heading upstairs to swap her tooth for some gold coins. It’s a bittersweet moment as it’s another sign my baby girl is growing up.
We’ve got a few more days left of half term. It’s flown by, but we’ve made the most of it. The weather looks like it’s going to be nice this weekend and we’re going to head to Dinton Pastures on Saturday. Alice then has a party on Sunday!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
