Time With My Girls…

Time With My Girls…

As much as I would love Andy to be off work for every single school holiday, it just isn’t possible. Whilst he takes as much as he can and at least one or two days each time, there are always days when it’s just me and my girls.

It takes me back to the days before school, when it was us girls everyday and I just love it. Yes, it’s exhausting and I honestly collapse on the sofa every night and when Andy walks through the door, he always comments that I look tired. But it will always be a time that I will love and since becoming a school mum I know that these days are precious.

Our half term started with a few days in Wales with my parents and that only left a few days with the girls and I. It was a great way to start the holiday and the fact that the sun joined us too was even better.

Then it was just us girls and we had a lovely few days together, we met up with friends, visited new places and even had a little adventure down to Bournemouth. We also had lazy time at home and the girls played mainly nicely together with not too many squabbles.

I always like to ask Alice what she would love to do whilst she is off school and I love that what she always chooses are the simple things in life. She never asks for the big days out and I love her for it. This time it was to bake a cake. She was very specific in what cake she wanted to make, it was to be a round sponge one, not chocolate and no jam. Covered in butter icing and lots of things to decorate it with it.

Her wish was my command!

We’re ending the half term with a trip to Warwick Castle and I’m writing this post from the comfort of one of their glamping tents that we are staying in. I’ll be sharing more with you next week!

I can’t wait to have one last day of fun tomorrow with Andy here too, it’s the perfect end to what has been a brilliant half term. If only every week could be like this, mind you I’m not sure I’ve got the stamina for it. I’m pretty tired and looking forward to a slower pace of life next week.
