That’s right, its time to dust off that union jack dress, those platform shoes, embrace your animal print clothes and get those pigtails in your hair! The Spice Girls are back and bigger than ever. I don’t think there is a single person who doesn’t instantly recognise Wannabe when it comes on. It was the song that rocked the nation and put the Spice Girls on the map, as one of the most successful girl bands in the UK.
The Spice Girls arrived when there weren’t really any iconic girl bands around and they gave girls someone to look up to. With five band members, all with very different personalities, there was someone that you could relate to. They weren’t your girl next door band, they had a powerful message, ‘Girl Power’ and they helped to set the scene for girls over the years.
Lets not forget about the songs, they are catchy and I probably know the words of far too many of them 🙂
After a long break, the Spice Girls are back, minus posh spice. And have kicked started their tour in Dublin. My cousin and I were those fans desperately trying to get tickets when they went on sale and we were VERY lucky to have got a pair of tickets for tomorrow’s show. We have our t-shirts ready, and I can’t wait to see them in concert. It will be the first time I’ve seen them live.
The Spice Girls are back working with Walkers, and last night we saw the premier of their new TV advert and the start of the Walkers Spice Girls Best Ever Fan campaign. The question is does the fan love the Spice Girls or his packet of Walkers crisps the most?
Don’t worry the position of Spice Girls Superfan is still vacant!
