Sharing the Blog Love is all about Katy and I giving something back to the wonderful blogging community. Each week showcasing four blog posts that have linked up, that we have loved reading. But, of course as this is the first week of the linky, we have chosen four blog posts that we have read and loved from the past few weeks.
When you start blogging there is so much ‘stuff’ that you have no clue about and you spend a lot of time googling things. What is wonderful is that when a blogger finds out things that have worked for them, they share it. This might be a small thing that they will post in a Facebook group or it might be worthy of a blog post. Mim has been spending a few months giving her blog a ‘spring clean’ and as a result she saw her blog traffic double, which is amazing! What is even more amazing is she has shared with us what she did, so that if we choose to we can try and benefit from a ‘spring clean’ too. Thank you Mim.
Having carried both my girls my body shape is not the same as it was four years ago and I have come to accept that it never will be and I’m ok with that. But, it appears society isn’t! When I read Hannah’s Post Pregnancy Body Image and How to Rock It post, I was shocked to read that she was asked what her plans were to loose weight two weeks after giving birth to her beautiful daughter. I mean really do people think that is ok? But, what I loved more was Hannah’s response to it and how to rock your post pregnancy body.
When I started writing my blog I thought hard about whether to use the girls names or not, with my blog name it would have been easy for me to refer to them as bear and beany in my posts. But, after speaking to Andy we decided to use their names. A few months ago Lucy wrote a really interesting post about Anonymity, she was was having an internal debate with herself about whether to share with us her children’s names and her reasons for not doing so up to now. I love reading Lucy’s blog and when she did a blog redesign I noticed that she had included pages for each of her children’s names and then she shared with everyone a post on how she got to a place in her own mind about sharing her children’s names with us. I for one am glad she did because they are such beautiful names and I love finding out what people have called their children.
Since I started blogging pressing the ‘Publish’ button has got easier, but there are still some posts that you write and your finger hovers over the button. When I read this beautifully brave post from Amy, I can only imagine the courage it took for her to share her story. The post is about Amy being brought up and raised as a Jehovah’s Witness and it touched me more than I have words for.
Over the next week I will be showcasing these four wonderful posts across Twitter and also linking this post up to #The List linky, run by the lovely Aby and Amy.
Sharing the Blog Love linky opens today and we would love you to link up and share your wonderful posts with us. You never know it could be your post that we are showcasing next week…
