Review: The Massage Company…

Review: The Massage Company…

Would you like a regular massage? I know that I would. Having a massage is something that I know I should do more often, it’s not until I have one that I realise what a difference it makes to me in so many ways.

A lot of people see having a massage as a treat and to have occasionally. But, there are so many benefits to your wellbeing if you have regular massages. It is proven to help with stress, aid relaxation, raise alertness and assist in recovery from treatment and surgery.

The Massage Company want to change the way we view massages to take it from the occasional treat to something that we do regular and see the benefits. Their vision is simple…

“To bring high-quality massage to the mainstream. We want people to see massage as good value for money, so it can become a vital and routine part of a better and balanced quality of life”

They invited me along to try out their massages for myself, of course I quickly said yes. If you read my blog regularly you will know that both my girls and husband have their birthdays in August, within a ten day period. It’s a bit full on and exhausting, so I booked my massage for after they were all over.

The Massage Company are based in Camberley and perfectly located near the town centre and opposite a large car park, I found it easily.

I was welcomed by their friendly receptionist, she made me feel relaxed as we chatted about my girls and their busy birthdays, while I completed the form she gave me. The form is a health questionnaire and what you would expect to complete. They asked the usual sort of questions about injuries, pregnancy, where I am comfortable to be massaged or not as the case maybe and what I want from my massage. When I booked the massage I had been asked if I had a preference with a man or woman masseuse, which I thought was good.

It was then time for my massage and I was taken to one of their many treatment rooms, as we walked along the masseuse discussed my health questionnaire. I had chosen the deep tissue massage with the upgrade option of hot stones. If you have never tried hot stones I strongly recommend it, it is heaven. It is perfect for releasing tension and the heat of the stones is really relaxing.

Their rooms were lovely, they had the traditional massage table where you pop your head through the hole. I was then left alone to undress, keeping my knickers on, and I got onto the table under a sheet. During the massage they uncover each part of your body and there was no time that I was completely uncovered or felt uncomfortable. They were very discreet.

After the massage I was given a warm flannel and left on my own to wipe myself down and get dressed. I was then met outside with a glass of water. It’s really important to keep hydrated after a massage and they reminded me of this. She discussed with me areas that she could feel tension, in my right forearm and also around my neck.

I was given a note with recommendations on areas to focus and types of massages to have in the future. Apparently a scalp massage is good for the tension in my neck.

The massage last 50 minutes and I felt really relaxed and I don’t know how to put it in words. But, it was like my body had been reset and it was easier to move.

If you want to go along with a friend or partner, they have duo treatment rooms too. I popped in to take a look.

They have an easy affordable way to sign up and pay by monthly direct debit, which reduces the cost of the massage and you can book online when you want your massage. What I really love is that if for any reason you can’t use your massage one month, you can transfer it to friend or family member. How lovely would that be to receive?

Having been reminded what a difference a massage can mean for me, not only made to my body, but also my mind. I can really see the benefit that having a regular massage would have for me and I shouldn’t just see it as a treat to have a couple of times a year. I am totally sold on the concept of having a monthly massage and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

That’s definitely a different way of booking a massage. I do like a regular massage myself too as sitting at a desk all day really hurts my back.

  2. Wow, the place looks so beautiful. I really like minimum and clean decor. I like that you can book online and set up a monthly payment as I am one of those people who forget to do anything if I have to phone about it! Sounds like you had a nice time and I like that they gave you treatment recommendations for your next visit.

The hubby & I are always saying we need a massage as we both have really bad tension, it’s just never something we make a priority. The only time I ever get a massage is if I go on a spa day which I can count on one hand!

It was lovely to meet up afterwards. Shame that this can’t be a monthly thing, I could get used to it x

I have reflexology once a month which is a massage of sorts – I swear it keeps me sane! We all need regular time out I think… #TriedTested

I completely agree that massage shouldn’t be seen as a treat – self care isn’t selfish!
Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested this week.
