What a week! The start of the week I had my final two days with the girls at home, before one the best summers we’ve had came to an end. It was then time to get ready to send my baby girl to school, for her first day and my big girl to start year two. It has definitely been a week of two halves!
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
Friendsfest… I love friends and happily watch episodes of it over and over. Last year my cousin and I went to Friendsfest for the first time and loved it. When we saw it was back this year and they added new sets, we had to go again. It was really lovely to spend time with cousin, have some time for me after the summer holidays and of course have fun at Friendsfest. It was all about ‘pivot’!!
A Day At The Beach… The weather was gorgeous over the weekend and on Sunday we headed to Sandbanks for what might be our last trip to beach this summer. We had a brilliant day, everyone was having fun and we stayed much longer than we planned to. No one wanted to leave. It was a great way to spend our last weekend before the girls go to school.
Swimming… For the last 6 years we’ve had weekly swimming lessons and I’ve been getting in the pool with either both or one of the girls every week for 6 years. It was hard work at times, but it was worth it to see how confident they are in the water. On Monday it was Holly’s first time having lessons with me no longer in the pool. It felt like an end of an era and to be honest I’m quite relieved. Holly did amazing on her own and Alice had moved up at level and was great too.
A Final Day Out…Tuesday was our last day of the summer holidays and we headed to Dinton Pastures with my parents and niece. The girls played in the adventure playground, they scooted around the lake. Attempted to skim stones in the water and ate yet another ice cream. It was the perfect end to our summer holidays!
Back To School… It was time to say goodbye to the summer holidays and head to school. Alice was excited to be going into year 2 and be head of the school. And for my little Holly, it was her first day at school and she handled it like a champion. I couldn’t be prouder of them both. Yes, I cried on the way home from dropping Holly off, I can’t quite believe that I no longer have any babies at home with me.
Blogging Is Now My Job… With both girls now at school it’s time for me to get a job and Andy and I have decided for me to give blogging a go as my job and see how it goes. I’m really excited and really nervous, but I love it so much and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to call something I love, my job.
Seeing My Beautiful Friend… One of the best things about blogging is the friendships you make and I’m lucky to be able to call the lovely Laura my friend. Our friendship has gone beyond blogging and she is genuinely one of the most important people in my life. She is always there for me, she makes me laugh every single day and yesterday I got to see her. We live at the opposite ends of the country (typical!) and last week we both got invited to an event in Oxford. So, I got to have a bonus trip to see her, we hugged, we laughed and we talked non-stop.
This weekend… We’re going to Windsor Castle and I can’t wait. We love a trip to a castle and this is a pretty special castle. Alice is very excited, as we see it when we visit Legoland and she is hoping the queen will be in residence. We also need to have a good clear out of our garage, a boring, but much needed job.
I hope you all have a brilliant weekend!
