It’s our final last full week of the summer holidays and Andy also returned to work on Tuesday after 2 weeks off. We finished his holidays with a little family party for Holly’s birthday on the bank holiday weekend and she loved it. I still feel a bit guilty that we didn’t do her a party with her friends, but it was just too tricky with the end of preschool and the school holidays. She will have plenty of parties now she is entering the world of school, so I’m trying to loose the guilt!
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
My Baby Girl Turned 4… I can’t believe that Holly is now 4! I’ve been feeling all the emotions of the baby of our family turning 4 and getting ready to start school next week. I know it’s a cliche, but I honestly don’t know where those 4 years have gone. We celebrated with a trip to Paulton’s Park and she had a brilliant day.
A Tidy House… Over the summer my house has not been tidy, as soon as I tidy up the girls are coming behind me making a mess again. But on Sunday when all it did was rain and the girls needed a quiet day too. Andy and I cleaned the whole house between us and it felt good. Of course it has got a bit messy again this week, but its not too bad.
Time With My Parents… I’ve always been close to my parents and my girls adore them. We see them all the time and this week, we’ve seen them every day. Even if it was just for part of the day. They love to spend as much as they can with them when they are not at school. On Wednesday we had a lovely day at Millets Farm, just a simple day with lots of fun and ice cream.
Getting Organised for School…There is no getting anyway from the fact that school starts again next Wednesday and I’ve been getting organised and buying the last few bits. Like PE plimsols that I always seem to forget and leave to the last minute. Today I’m going to label it all up and double check we have everything.
Struggling To Sleep… For over a week now I’ve been struggling to get off to sleep. Even though I’m really tired and have been staying up late to get work done (thanks to the summer holidays!). When I come to get into bed, my mind cannot switch off and I lay there for ages, getting more annoyed that I’m missing out on sleep!
Reading… I’ve just finished a brilliant book called Fake Friends, it wasn’t what I was expecting it to be like. But it was SO good, I definitely recommend reading it if you’re looking for a good book that you can’t put down.
This weekend… Tomorrow I’m heading to Friendsfest with my cousin and I can’t wait to have some time with her. Then on Sunday the forecast looks like its going to be a sunny day and we’re hoping to squeeze in one last trip to the beach.
I hope you all have a brilliant weekend!
