Its been our first full week of school and we’ve been getting used to our new routine. We’re all exhausted too! With Alice now at the juniors we are getting used to double drop off and pick up and finding our feet with it. The girls after school clubs have started again and it takes a while to get back into the swing of things.
The girls have settled in well at school. Alice is enjoying the juniors school and her new teachers. Holly has adapted well into year one, with a lot more work and no play. But she has taken it in her stride.
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
Dinner with Friends… On Friday night, Andy and I had dinner with our friends. It was really lovely to have some time with our friends and not a child in sight. We love our girls, but its also nice to be Laura and Andy. Something that we are trying to do more of, now the girls are older. We had a great evening, lots of laughter, drinks and food, the perfect combination.
A Trip To Legoland… On Sunday morning the weather was gorgeous and we made a last minute decision to head to Legoland. This is why we love having our merlin passes, because we can just go and we don’t have the pressure to stay all day. We had a lovely day, as we always do and it was nice to make the most of these last sunny days.
Work, Work, Work… It has been a week of work for me. I’ve got a long to do list from the summer holidays, and I’ve been working all week while the girls have been at school trying to catch up. I usually try and take a day out to see friends, but I won’t be doing that until week. Whilst it’s not been that much fun, not seeing people it has made me feel better knowing that I’m ticking items off my list!
A Catch Up With Friends… I did however go round my friends house one evening with another friend for a catch up. Whilst I say hello to them at school, we never do more than that, as we’re rushing to pick up our children. It was lovely to sit down and have a good old chat. Along with a glass of bubbles! It was just what I needed.
Addicted… Andy and I have been addicted to watching The Seven Year Switch this week. We’ve watched it before and this was the second series of the Australian version. We’ve put everything else we’re watching on old to binge watch the 13 episodes!! Andy wasn’t very happy when I went out one evening and he couldn’t watch it 🙂 I think we finish it tonight.
This weekend… We’re off to Bristol on Saturday and Alice also has a disco in the evening. On Sunday if the forecast is right and its going to be sunny, we will probably be heading to the beach. Our favourite place.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
