This week we enjoyed the last few days before the girls went back to school on Thursday. I always have mixed emotions about them returning to school after nearly seven weeks off. I will miss them a lot, and I adore having them home. But I think we all get to the stage where we need routine again and they get out of sorts.
We tried to make the most of the sunshine that we had and headed outside as much as possible.
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
A Trip To The Park… On Friday afternoon the girls and I headed to the park to meet up with a few friends and their girls. The girls loved seeing their friends and they had a great time. It was nice for me to also catch up with friends and we could sit on the grass whilst the children played around us. We had a lovely couple of hours and the time flew by.
An Engagement Party… On Saturday afternoon we all headed to our friends engagement party, which we’ve all been looking forward to. The sun came out for most of it, with just a very big shower in the middle. Thankfully we had a marquee that we could all shelter under. Then the sun came out again. Its not that often that we all get to go to a party and it was a lovely afternoon.
A Day At The Beach… On Sunday we headed to Sandbanks beach, one of our favourites. Andy has been keeping an eye on the weather and it kept saying it was going to sunny there. So we put together a picnic, packed the beach stuff and headed off. When we arrived in the car park it was a bit windy and were worried if we had made the right decision. Then we walked around to the beach and we were completely sheltered from the wind and it was gorgeous. The girls loved playing in the sand, jumping in the waves and it was a rally relaxed day. I even topped up my tan!
A Day Out With Friends… On Monday we had one last trip out with our friends before school started. The sun was shining and we headed to Dinton Pastures, which has a brilliant play area. We took the girls scooters and after lunch they scooted around part of the lake. It was a lovely day and nice to make the most of the last of school holidays and sunshine.
Back To School… On Thursday it was time for the girls to head back to school. Alice started at the juniors school and Holly moved into year one. They both couldn’t wait to see their friends again and I think we all needed to get back into a routine, however nice the holidays have been. I had the biggest to do list ever and started to make my way through it, its going to take me a while to get back on top of things.
This weekend… We’re off out with some friends for dinner tonight and then we have a quiet weekend. Which I think we need after going back to school.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
