It’s been another busy week. Honestly August is just crazy busy for us with both girls and Andy having a birthday. But they’ve now all had their birthday’s and I feel like I can now focus on getting the girls prepared for school. They go back next Thursday, so we still have quite a few more days to squeeze in the last of the summer fun.
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
A 5th Birthday… My gorgeous Holly turned 5 last Saturday and I still can’t believe my baby is 5! We had both our families over for a barbecue which was what Holly wanted and it was lovely. But it was also a bit hectic getting it ready, as we only got back from holiday late Thursday night. But it was worth it for our little Holly.
A Lazy Day… On Sunday we had a much needed lazy day at home. The girls played in the garden and had a chance to enjoy playing with their various birthday presents. We had another barbecue to use up the left over food and I even got to read about 2 pages of my book!
Time With My Parents… Every school holiday we always make sure we see my parents. The girls adore them and on Tuesday we had a lovely day with them. The girls played in their garden and then we went to a nearby lake to feed the ducks and play in the play area. It was a really hot day, but the play area is under trees and well shaded. So its always a good place to head to on a hot day.
A Day With Holly… Over the holidays the girls had a day on their own with my parents. Its rare they get 121 time with the girls and I know they love it, as much as the girls do. This week was Alice’s turn, which meant I had a day just with Holly. It was lovely! We went to the cafe at her request, we built her lego friends camper van that she got for her birthday and then in the afternoon we met her friend at the park. It was a great day.
A Brilliant Book… I started reading the book The Holiday whilst in Crete and I finished it this week. It was brilliant, kept me guessing who it was right up to the end. It was one of those books that you’re desperate to find out what happens, but you will be sad when its finished.
This weekend… We’re off to my friends engagement party and we can’t wait. Also hoping for a day out at the beach if the weather stays nice. One last trip before school next Thursday.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
