My Little Snapshots…

My Little Snapshots…

We’re at the end of week two of the holidays and the girls and I have not got into a nice little routine. We’re loving the lazier starts to the mornings and whilst we’ve not been on big days out, we’ve had lots of lovely days together.

We’ve also had sickness, tears and sulking…just to keep it real!

Here is my little snapshot of my week…

A weekend in Cambridge… For my birthday in June, Andy booked a weekend away for us in Cambridge and the girls went to my parents. We haven’t been away for AGES and I had never been to Cambridge. I was so excited about going and it didn’t disappoint, we had a brilliant time. Our hotel was gorgeous and we could walk into town. We went punting, which was great and I learnt so much about the history of Cambridge. It was the perfect weekend and just what we needed.

poorly Alice… On Monday morning, I had made a picnic, packed our bag and was just getting the girls to have the last wee before getting in the car. When Alice was sick! We were meant to going out for the day with my cousin and her son, which we sadly had to cancel. Holly cried, Alice put her PJs on and I put the picnic in the fridge! It wasn’t the start of the week we wanted, but thankfully she was over it quickly.

Balancing Work…Whilst I don’t consider my blog, my job at the moment. I should! I need to change my mindset, especially as in September it will become my actual job. Trying to get paid work done while the girls are home is not easy. I don’t work when they are with me, except answering the odd email. I’ve booked in a few hours each week with grandparents to have the girls, to help me get some work done. Plus after dinner when Andy is home, I have 90 minutes before bedtime when I go and work. The rest is done in the evenings. It’s tough, it means late nights, but I want to be with my girls during the day and enjoy having them home. This is the last summer when it won’t be job and I know future school holidays I will have to do things differently.

Birthday Preparations This week I’ve been getting ready for Alice’s birthday party next week. She is SO excited! We’re having it at our house (am I mad?) and I’ve been trying to get it all ready to make our life easier on the day. I still have quite a bit to do, oops!

Soft play… I took the girls to soft play one morning, they had a 2 for 1 offer and I never take them normally! WOW what a difference soft play was this time, because Holly can now do it all without me following around behind her. It was like I had entered a new soft play world, where I sat in view of them with a coffee and watched. They met some friends and we stayed a lot longer than I had planned, they had great fun.

This weekend… We’re heading to Portsmouth and going to The Spinnaker Tower. Andy and the girls haven’t before and this time I’m going to be doing The Drop, which I’m really excited about. They also have Octonauts meet and greet which the girls will love. I’m doing my first Instagram takeover for them too and I can’t wait!

I hope you all have a great weekend and the sun is shining with you too!

And yes the juggling is hard in the holidays, we have quite a few lovely days planned but also have to balance the work its hard some days as I feel guilty when Joe has to entertain himself for a couple of hours x

I hope you had a great time in Portsmouth, we went years ago and loved it. We stayed on Hayling Island. Enjoy those lazy days taking it slowly.

Lazy days are sometimes the best and Cambridge sounds lovely. Would love to visit there and punting sounds lots of fun. It’s always nice to get away as a couple isn’t it x
