It’s been a full on working week this week, trying to catch up from the Easter Holidays. I’m also very aware that it’s only 3 weeks until half term and I need to try and get ahead too. We are going away for a few days and I want to try and switch off too. I love my job, but it can be hard to take time off. The social media world doesn’t stop and emails still need to be answered as it could be work that I need. It’s a case of balance.
The girls have also been back to clubs and its been an exhausting week!
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
Dinner With Friends … On Friday night I went out for dinner with a couple of friends. It was really nice to catch up and after having the girls home, it was good to have some adult company and time for me. We went to a place we hadn’t been before and it was really lovely. The food was delicious and a lovely atmosphere.
A Quiet Weekend… After the first week back to school, we all needed a quiet weekend. Holly had her best friends birthday party on Saturday which she loved. Apart from that we went for a walk in the woods, had lunch out and spent time at home. It was lovely!
The Widow… It was the last episodes of The Widow this week and it was so good. I found recently that some series, the ends have been weak. But I thought they did a good job of ending it and bringing it altogether. I love Kate Beckinsale and she was brilliant in it. The trouble with a good series, is you want to know what happens, but then when it sends you have nothing to watch.
Play Dates… The girls had their friends over for a play date this week and they were ridiculously excited, like they are always are when we do them. I find it easier if they both have a friend over on the same day, as they then all just play nicely together. Even if it can be very loud and I want to lie down at the end! But I also love seeing them with their friends and listening to their chats, its a little insight to their world.
Party Planning… We’ve started to plan the girls birthday’s parties. Well when I say ‘we’, the girls have! With them both being in the holidays, I’m going to try and do them before the end of the school term, as there is more chance of people being available. It’s now deciding what to do! I tried to get them to have a joint one, but they were not having it! I think they have both decided what they would live, its now a case of booking them in. Parties can be very stressful and expensive!
This weekend… It’s the bank holiday weekend and I’m excited to spend an extra day with Andy and the girls. It’s a busy weekend! Andy and I are off to see Take That tonight and the girls are staying at my parents house. Then we have a day planned with our friends too and maybe a trip to the beach too. I can’t wait.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
