It’s been our second week of the Easter holidays and what a lovely week it has been. Andy has been off with us and its been really nice to have a long stretch of time together as a family. He hasn’t been off since Christmas. There has been a lot of laughter and silliness which there always is when Daddy is home and it fills my heart to see the girls with him.
Next week I’m going to be lost without them all at home.
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
Holly Growing Up and Time With Alice … On Saturday Holly spent the day with her best friend and her family for her friends birthday. They took her to a local farm and she had the best day with them. It was the first time that she has done anything like that and whilst I missed her lots, I know that she isn’t my baby anymore and I have to let her spread her wings a little bit. When she came home she was full of stories of what they had done and we snuggled on the sofa for ages.
This also meant that we had time just with Alice, which never happens. She got a Go Ape voucher for Christmas and as Holly didn’t want to do it, this seemed the perfect time to do it. We had a great time and it was lovely to spend time with my big girl, who chats non stop and is the best fun to be around.
Indoor Sky Diving… Alice also got a voucher for Christmas to do Indoor Sky Diving and we did it together this week. Holly wasn’t too sure about it and decided to watch with Andy. Alice wasn’t nervous at all and took to it really well. She came out saying she loved it and after watching us, Holly said she would like to try it next time.
I Finished A Book… This week I finished Still Me by JoJo Moyes, it is the 3rd book in the series and I just loved it. Louisa Clarke is a brilliant character and I’ve loved following her story. If you haven’t read this series you must, the first one is Me Before You and it was also made into a film. All three books have made me cry and I love a love story.
A Cinema Trip… Holly can be a bit funny when it comes to going to the cinema, she will only go and watch something that she is familiar with and knows that it won’t be scary. When Mary Poppins came out she didn’t want to go and so Alice and I went together and loved it. Since then she has been watching the original Mary Poppins and so when I saw that it was the mini morning film this week I asked her if she wanted to go and she said yes, if I can take care bear. So, we all headed to see it and she loved it!
Fab TV Series… I’m loving the tv series that are on at the moment. There is The Bay on Wednesday nights and I love it. It does have a Broadchuch feel to it, but I’m ok with that and can’t wait to see how it all ends. I’m also really enjoying The Widow on Monday and Tuesday nights with Kate Beckinsale. It’s really gripping and twists all over the place. I have no idea what is going to happen next and we’re only half way through the series.
A Family Day Out… We headed to Marwell Zoo for the day and had a brilliant day. The sun was out and it finally felt like summer was on its way and it made me excited for the weeks and months ahead. Life just seems so much nicer and a little bit easier in the sun. The girls had a great time seeing all the animals and going on all the different play areas. We had our first picnic of the year and an ice cream too!
This weekend… We’ve got a couple of days out planned seeing family for Easter. There will be lots of chocolate involved and I can’t wait to switch off for 4 days and enjoy these last few days with my girls and Andy home.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
