What a weird week its been with the weather. Last Friday and Saturday we had gorgeous weather, then on Sunday it was freezing and Monday is was lovely again. Then since Monday it has been cold and wet. I have no clue what to wear anymore and just feel like I’m constantly in the wrong clothes. I hope it sorts itself out for next week!
This week has been a busy one with work. Blogging can be a strange you can have spells of quiet periods and March tends to be a quieter month and then suddenly you get a few fab emails pop in your inbox and your suddenly crazy busy. But I’m not complaining, I love my job!
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
Time Just Us… Last Friday Andy and I headed to Brighton. Andy was working down there and I joined him, and while he went off to work I looked around the shops and sat on the beach to read my book. It was just what I needed. We then went out for a few drinks and a meal together. We haven’t had anytime together since last July, and it was what we both needed. It was lovely to just be us for a while, knowing the girls were having a fun time with my parents.
New Blog Look … At the weekend, it became apparent that the company that I brought my blog theme from (the bit that makes it look pretty and navigates you) had been doing a few things that I didn’t like. It’s all very boring code talk, but it has hit the blogging community a lot! Anyway the result of it all meant a new theme for my blog. To be honest I’ve fancied a change for a while, but its finding the time to do it. This gave me the kick I needed and I absolutely love the look of my new blog. I’ve still got a few tweaks to make, but most of it is done. What do you think? Let me know if you find anything not working right.
Mother’s Day … On Sunday it was Mother’s Day and the girls had made me some lovely cards that I will treasure forever and brought me a lovely plant too. We headed to Chessington for the day, and whilst it was a bit chilly and I was pleased I picked up the girls winter coats. The queues were short and we got to go on a lot of rides and had a great time. Holly was a lot braver this year too, which was lovely to see.
Lunch with a friend… On Tuesday I went and met my friend Katy and her son for lunch which was really lovely. She was reviewing the new menu and had invited me along, as were planning on meeting up this week. It was perfect as it rained and it was nice to be able to still meet up and have a catch up. It’s lovely that blogging has brought new friends into my life.
A Trip to IKEA… I went to Ikea on Wednesday with my friend. I wanted to look at a bench for outdoors and get a new plant for the hallway. When I asked my friend if she wanted to come along, of course she said yes. Who doesn’t love an Ikea trip? I had to order my bench for home delivery which was a bit of a pain, as they had it there to see in the shop, but not buy. Anyway it arrives today and I can’t wait. It’s nothing that exciting, but it means that when the girls are outside on their bikes and scooters I will now have somewhere to sit.
Easter Service… The girls had their school Easter Service and it was really lovely to go and watch them. Holly was so good at remembering all the words to the songs and looked so little against the rest of the school. Alice’s class were doing a play, and she was the narrator. She said her lines so well, I was proud of both my girls.
Holiday Booked… We have finally booked out holiday for the summer and I’m so excited. We are heading to Crete and the girls are very excited. We will be away for Andy’s birthday, which will be lovely and we can spoil him, as it’s a big birthday this year! I now need to start looking at places we want to visit while we’re there and get organised.
This weekend… Its the start of the Easter holidays for the girls and I can’t wait to have them home. The girls have haircuts and a birthday party on Saturday. On Sunday I am going to a spa with my sister in law for her birthday, which I am really excited about.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
