My Little Snapshots…

My Little Snapshots…

It was our first full week back to school since half term, but half term already feels like a long time ago. It’s also felt like a long week and I’ve been thinking it was a day ahead than it really was. It’s been a busy school week and Holly has been getting up early, which means I’m exhausted and ready for the weekend.

Here is my little snapshot of this week…

A Trip To IKEA… Is there anything better than a trip to IKEA? We went to look at wardrobe options for Holly, and of course we ended up buying other things even though we were only looking! But you can’t go to IKEA and just look, there is so much to tempt me. We did find a great wardrobe option too and I will be heading back there on my own to get it.

Sorting The Spare Room.. Our spare room is mainly Andy’s office, with a day bed in for when we have people stay over. But it also becomes a dumping ground and full of clothes that either the girls have grown off or its the wrong season. At the weekend I sorted it out and I’m determined to keep it like this. Alice thought it was a great place to relax and brought her big floor cushion in to watch television and have her snack.

Pancake Day … I love pancakes and Pancake Day is one of my favourite days of the year. Not that I need an excuse to have pancakes, we definitely have them more than once a year in our house. Tuesday is the worst possible night for us to have them, with ballet and gymnastics classes. But Alice didn’t want to move it to another day! So, the girls had them for breakfast, which made them happy. It also made me happy, as I made my own batch when Alice was at gymnastics and they were so nice.

Coffee With A Friend … Working for yourself and at home, is amazing and I’m very lucky. But it can be a bit lonely at times and every day can feel the same. I try and book a coffee date in once a week with different people, to break the week up and also to remember to make time for me. It’s important for me to have the balance and its always nice to meet up with friends.

World Book Day… It was World Book Day at the girls school this week and of course that is great excitement for them, not so much for me. Alice has wanted to be Veruca Salt for months and we’ve been getting her outfit ready. Holly immediately said she wanted to be Alice in Wonderland and we already had the costume, which was a win! Then a couple of days ago Holly announced she no longer wanted to be Alice in Wonderland and wanted to wear her pirate costume, which she had. So, we had Veruca Salt and Pirate Polly and they went off to school very happy.

This weekend… We have a busy weekend planned, which we haven’t had for a while. If the weather is nice we are going to head to Chessington on Saturday and on Sunday we are seeing my family to celebrate my Dad’s birthday.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Oh I love Ikea, I haven’t been since we lived in Spain. I definitely need to pay a visit to one here, not that my bank account will thank me for it of course. I love pancakes too, although I didn’t end up having any on Tuesday. Totally agree with taking time out to see people when you work from home, it can get very samey and rather lonely if you don’t. Have a great weekend x

I love a trip to Ikea, you go for just one thing and end up buying half of what’s in store!
I also need to sort out my study, it has slowly become a dumping ground and it really needs a bit clear out.
Meeting friends for coffee it’s great when you work from home as it can get really lonely. I used to do 2 days per week and it was hard sometimes not talking to anyone all day.

It does get lonely sometimes doesn’t it? I make sure I can get out to combat that and meet up with friends. And I do love an Ikea trip although I always end up getting loads of stuff i don’t need !

I love going to Ikea, and funnily enough I was only thinking we need to look at a new wardrobe for my teenage daughter’s bedroom. How gorgeous is your pink chair, and I agree that you can’t beat a weekly coffee with a friend x
