This week I’ve not been feeling too good and I just haven’t been able to shift it. But, unfortunately there has been no time to just lie on the sofa and feel sorry for myself. With it being half term next week I’ve been trying to get myself organised and ahead a little bit. I haven’t done as much as I would’ve liked, but there are just never enough hours in the day.
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
Feeling Proud… Last Friday I was invited into the school assembly to watch Alice get a couple of certificates. One was for being a good citizen, where over this year she has collected 10 stamps for doing things that make her a good citizen of the school. This is such a lovely idea, as its not about the actual school work itself. The second one, was for getting to the top of the reward system they have in one day. Which is not that easy, and Alice was so proud to have done it.
Time With Alice.. On Saturday afternoon I wanted to pop into town and Alice wanted to come with me, but Holly wanted to stay home to make Big Ben (don’t ask!). It was really nice to have time with just Alice, she is growing up so quickly at the moment and is such good company. We did some shopping and stopped for a hot chocolate. It was simple, but really lovely.
Family Bowling … Over the last year, going bowling as a family has become one of our favourite things to do. Its really nice to have an activity that we can all enjoy, adults too. As a treat for doing so well at school, we took the girls and it was great fun. We then had lunch afterwards and the girls were chatting about our holiday this summer, they are so excited to be going on a plane.
School Disco.. Is there anything more exciting than the school disco? The girls had a Valentine’s Disco on Wednesday after school and I went and helped out. I always love seeing them interacting with their friends and it was the first time I got to see Holly at one. She hardly left the craft room, which does not surprise me! The theme was wear red, in case you can’t guess from this photo!!!
New Babies… My friend who I met when I did NCT classes with Alice, had her third baby boy and I got to meet him this week. He is so adorable and was such a good boy, while we ate and drank coffee. It was strange for both of us not to have a little one that we had to share our food with.
This weekend… It’s the start of half term for us and I can’t wait to spend time with the girls and no school runs. We have a few things planned, but also lots of time to relax too. I think we all need it.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
