The snow did arrive last Friday and a lot of it. The girls school was closed and I was really pleased I had moved our shopping delivery and there was no way anyone was getting to us. The girls were very excited and we spent all weekend either out in the snow, or at home snuggled up with a hot chocolate.
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
Snowed In… We woke up to a blanket of snow on Friday and it didn’t stop snowing all day. Its unusual for it to continue snowing throughout the day and it meant we got very wet when we were out in it on Friday. The girls loved it of course. On Saturday Holly was desperate to build a snowman and where it had frozen the snow overnight, it was actually quite tricky to build one. But we kind of managed it, enough to make her happy.
Time With My Parents.. By Sunday we had started to get cabin fever and whilst the snow hadn’t gone, it had cleared enough for us to be able to leave our village. Luckily people had told us the best route to use on the roads. We headed to town and had lunch with my parents. It was nice to get out for a bit and see them too.
Coffee with friends … On Monday I had coffee with a couple of friends. Its always nice to have a chance to catch up and a proper chat. For me as well, because I work at home it can become a bit lonely at time and its nice to break the week up, with seeing people.
New Jumper.. I think I have a jumper addiction, I just love a nice snuggly jumper and live in them during the winter. When I saw this gorgeous new jumper in next, I just knew I had to have it. I thought it would be nice with jeans, but also with my black cord skirt to mix it up a bit.
Playdates… When Holly started school in September, she was really tired after school and even though the girls were desperate to have playdates at our house, especially Alice. I said we would wait until after Christmas, to give Holly a chance to adapt to school life. This week Holly was invited over to her friends house and she was SO excited. And Alice invited one of her friends over to our house and she loved it. I think I definitely had the easier deal, entertaining two 6 year olds, is a lot easier than two 4 year olds. They both had a great time with their friends and are already asking for another one.
This weekend… As we were snowed in last weekend, we didn’t get a chance to take Alice out for her treat for doing so well at school, which means we are going to do this weekend. I also can’t believe we only have 1 more week at school until half term!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
