My Little Snapshots…

My Little Snapshots…

This week it has been back to normal for us, the girls have been at school all week and I’ve been getting back to work. I found it really hard last year getting back into it after Christmas, but this year its been much easier. I think its because now Holly is at school, I no longer have to work in the evenings that often. I get to relax and watch tv and its made a big difference this year.

Here is my little snapshot of this week…

Family Cinema Trip… Holly has this ‘thing’ about movies, you know when little ones get fixated on something. Well for Holly its movies and she doesn’t like watching them. This means we only take her to the cinema if we know she will LOVE it. The girls have been watching all the Nativity films over Christmas and they love them. When I saw that the latest one Nativity Rocks was on at the mini mornings, I knew the girls would love it. So, on Saturday we all went and they did love it. It was nice to be able to go as a family.

Time With Holly.. On Saturday afternoon, Alice had a birthday party and Andy was out. Which meant it was just Holly and I at home. She was happily playing with her new toys from Christmas and it reminded of before we started school and it would be just us all the time. I don’t think I’ve had time with just Holly since September and it was really nice.

Baking … On Sunday the girls and I baked some cakes. Not that we really needed any more food in the house after Christmas, but they love doing it. Its the one thing they always ask to do when they are not at school. It was lovely to do it on the last day of our holidays.

Blog Birthday… On Wednesday it was my blog’s third birthday. I can’t believe I have kept at it for three years, normally my hobbies don’t last that long. But I fell in love with writing it and everything else. It’s definitely the best thing I did and I can’t imagine not writing it.

Finding the balance… This year I’m working on getting the balance better for work. With Holly now at school, it means that I don’t have to work as much in the evenings. I’m also going to give myself some time in the week when I can. The trouble with this job is you never know how busy you’re going to be each week, so it will be done adhoc.

This weekend… We have a weekend of no plans and I can’t wait. The girls are tired from the first week back and I think we will enjoy some time at home, go for a walk and the girls no doubt will be out on their bikes.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

I’m so pleased Holly loved the cinema this time around! This might just encourage me to actually take Max, as I’ve been wavering on it for a few weeks now. We’ll see! I hope you manage to find a better balance between work and family – I’m definitely still struggling with this.

Happy blog birthday, it’s quite an achievement to keep up with it for 3 years.
