It’s been another busy week, I think it’s going to be like this from now until Christmas. I have a lot of work on and I also find this a busy half term, with lots going on at school. At the moment I’m just taking each week as it comes and trying not to drop any plates.
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
Autumn walks… Last Saturday we headed to Basildon Park, a local National Trust and enjoyed an autumn walk. They had a trail for the girls to follow, we had a lovely lunch and it was nice to just get some fresh air. One of the best things we ever did was get a National Trust membership, we use it so much.
Fireworks… On Saturday night we went to a fireworks display at a school in the next village. It’s always a lovely evening and the girls get so excited about going. I’ve always loved fireworks and I never get bored of them. Its one of the childhood memories that stay with you.
Pottery Painting … On Sunday the girls and I met my Mum, SIL and niece at a local pottery painting place. It was a miserable rainy day and I thought it was a good opportunity for us to do our annual Christmas pottery. Holly wanted to do a Christmas tree hanging decoration and Alice choose to paint a Father Christmas plate. My Mum helped Alice, who actually didn’t need much help and did a great job. I thought I was going to have to help Holly a lot, like previous years. But I didn’t! She was brilliant, she was very careful to try and only paint the bits she wanted to with a colour. I pick them up next week and I can’t wait to see them.
Coffee with a friend … I met up with my friend Katy and her son for a coffee, in a town half way between us. I’m always grateful for the friends blogging has brought me and its lovely to chat with someone who gets blogging. Her eldest son also started school in September and we talk a lot about school life, missing our little ones and being a school Mum. The time always goes way too quickly!
Our Anniversary … It was our wedding anniversary on Tuesday and we celebrated 8 years of marriage. I can’t believe its been 8 years, but I also can’t remember a time when Andy wasn’t by my side. We didn’t do anything on Tuesday to celebrate, because it’s a Tuesday and Alice had gymnastics and Tuesday is a bit of a rubbish day for Andy to take off work! Instead we are heading to London after we drop the girls at school today (Friday). Andy managed to get us 2 of the free tickets they allocate to visit the Sky Garden and I can’t wait. We are then heading to the theatre to see Wicked and I’m so excited.
This weekend… On Saturday morning we will be heading back from London and then in the afternoon we will have a chilled one at home. I will no doubt spend it hugging my girls, as I always miss them so much. On Sunday morning Alice has the remembrance parade with Rainbows and I will be taking her.
I hope you all have a brilliant weekend.
