I can’t believe it’s been another month since I last wrote about my girls. January felt like the longest month ever, but February is whizzing by, which I guess it always does being such a short month anyway.
Right now I’m loving the age the girls are, the relationship they have and how they are with each other. I want to hit the pause button and just enjoy this time for a bit longer. I love the short drive home listening to them tell me about any moments that they got to see each other at school. If they were lucky enough to have lunch together or played together in the playground. I love how Alice will tell me that Holly fell over in the playground and she wanted her sister and she went straight to her. Just knowing they have each other, during these moments is a big comfort to me.
I love how the bundle in from school, shoes kicked off and dash upstairs to get dressed. Asking the other one what they are wearing, so they can co-ordinate. Then back downstairs for a quick snack, where they talk about what game to play once they’ve finished. Yes, there is the odd argument over who is ‘Mum’ and who is ‘baby’, but its quickly resolved and all part of sibling life.
I love those little moments you see, where Alice will help Holly do up the zip on her coat, when Holly will rush to get Alice’s favourite teddy bear when she is sad, to cheer her up, when they sit so close to each other on the sofa they are practically one person. When they tell each other they love them, when they are proud of their sister for doing something. I have to pinch myself that I got lucky to have two sisters that adore each other. I hope they will always love each other and be there for each other.
This last month we’ve enjoyed lots of time together as a family at the weekends, time at home, going for walks and bike rides. Its been really lovely.
My photos this month were taken on one of our Sunday walks, we climbed to the top of this hill and we could see for miles. On a clear day you can see 4 different counties. I also took a couple of photos of them when they were wearing matching dresses. They don’t normally wear identical clothes and they were both so excited, which I think you can tell from their faces.
Next week is half term and I can’t wait to spend it with my two favourite girls.
