Me and Mine…A Family Project March 2017

Me and Mine…A Family Project March 2017

March has been a lovely month for us a family, it has been the month where we finished off all the big jobs around our new home. There are still a few more things to hang on the walls and add those personal touches. We feel so at home here and it is definitely a home that I know we are going to make so many happy memories in.

We’ve had some sunny days and been able to get out into our new garden. Watching Alice whizz up and down the path on her scooter and Holly playing in the house, making me dinner. I love it. I can picture us out here in the summer having lots of fun. I love that I can just throw open the doors and the girls can be out there playing and I can potter around and still see them. It feels like the garden becomes an extension of our house.

Last Sunday was Mother’s Day and Alice had it all planned. She wanted to take me to our garden centre for coffee and cake, with a hot chocolate for her and daddy, and a glass of milk for Holly. I love that she loves these simple, but perfect times together. We invited my parents along too and we had such a lovely morning all together. The sun was shining and it really was a perfect Mother’s Day morning.

They have a play area outside and the girls were having fun playing. I had my camera with me and I was taking some photos of the girls with my parents, as we didn’t have any recent ones. I thought I would take advantage of having my mum with us to take some photos of the four of us too. It’s so much easier when there is someone to take the photos.

When I was looking back at these photos, what really stood out to me is how much older my girls are looking. I know no longer see a toddler in Holly, but a little girl staring back at me. With Alice looking every inch the school girl that she is. Time really doesn’t stand still.

This month’s set of photos has my all time favourite photo of Andy and Holly, I just love it. Neither of them knew I was taking the photo and it will definitely be one for a frame.

I love these Laura – so many happy smiles! And you and Holly look so so similar in the one of you two together! I’m so pleased the move has paid off so well – I’ve loved being able to get out in the garden again this month, I didn’t realise how much I’d missed it, or Max too! Looking forward to spending lots more time in it over the coming months!

They do look more grown up here. They’re really lovely photos, so happy and playful. It’s so nice to get big jobs done in the house isn’t it?! I remember that feeling after our conversion and re-doing our entire upstairs of our house. xx

  3. Awww Laura, these are wonderful photographs. Glad to hear you’re settling in well to your new home and all the big jobs are nearly done. I think the finishing touches are the best bits of home improvements. Here’s to plenty of sunny days in the garden 🙂 #MeandMine

  4. Oh what a lovely way to celebrate on mother’s day, and a gorgeous set of pictures too. It must be so lovely to start to feel settled and at home in your new house – fingers crossed that’ll be us before too long!

I love these photos of your little family! Definitely ones to treasure for years to come. It looks like Alice and Holly are such caring little characters, one ‘making’ your dinner and the other organising your day out 🙂

I think often the most natural and best photos taken are those taken when we are unaware. Beautiful shows by the way x

I’m glad you’re getting settled into your new home. We’ve been in ours for almost 9 years now and we’re still “making home” x

  8. So lovely when you feel that the garden is just an extension of the house. How lovely that Alice had Mothers’ Day all planned out for you. I love the photos of you all in the play area – time definitely doesn’t stand still. I have moments of looking at my girls too and realising that they’re really not so little any more! #meandmineproject

Ooh all those lovely smiles, what fab photos! They’re always so much easier to capture when you have someone else around aren’t they haha xx
