Me and Mine…A Family Project February 2017

Me and Mine…A Family Project February 2017

February has been a funny month for us, my parents went to Australia for the whole of February and got back on Sunday. It was strange not seeing them, as we see them every week and Holly and I missed our Monday morning meet up with my mum. But we saw them today and it was lovely to see Holly so excited to see them.

It has also been a month where we really started to make the house, a home. Pictures are on the walls. rugs have been brought and curtains have been hung. All these little things really make it feel like we are living here and not squatting.

Andy and I even managed to have a night out together with our friends, something that we don’t do enough of and is definitely something we need to make more time to do this year. We went out for dinner and to the cinema and it was a really great night.

At the weekend Andy and I were chatting about Holly, who since being in a bed gives us the run around for about 20 minutes each night. And whilst at the time you want to scream and its very frustrating, in the grand scheme of things it is only 20 minutes and then you don’t hear from her until the morning. Which since moving her to a bed has become later, which is amazing! Anyway we were chatting about it and Andy said, it does feel like life is becoming easier one step at a time and he is right, it is. Yes, we have new challenges with having older children. But when I think back to what it was like only ten months and I was barely getting two or three hours sleep, it definitely has become easier.

I love that the four of us are a family, a unit and that we love being in each others company. I know that I couldn’t have done this parent thing with anyone other than Andy. I look at the pictures of us and it makes my heart swell. My girls adore each other and they have the best daddy in Andy, who has completely embraced a life with girls. There is nothing that he wouldn’t do for any of us girls and I have to remind myself of this.

I am so excited for spring to arrive and to have more chance to get outdoors. We’ve been braving the cold anyway, as we love to get out in the fresh air. We definitely all feel better once we’ve been out and the girls have got rid of some of that energy they have.

These photos are taken at the park, I wasn’t planning on taking our photos when we went. But, I happened to have my camera and we had the park to ourselves. I had to balance the camera on top of the train to get the pictures of the four of us. But these photos are what we are all about as a family, having fun at the park, one of life simplest pleasures.

Holly took this next one and I just had to include it!

Andy was trying to be funny about me taking photos, but then Alice photo bombed him and I just had to include it! That will teach him…

Holly is my little dare devil and poor Andy couldn’t run fast enough for her. I love how excited she is!

This isn’t the best photo ever, but what I love is you can see from both Holly’s and my face how much fun we are having and for that reason I love it.

I totally agree that I think as soon as you get to 2 things just become easier by the day and Eddy and I have been having the same conversations lately. It is so lovely and suddenly everything feels a little less overwhelming and demanding. touch wood anyway! x

  2. Love these photos – you look like you were all having so much fun at the park and the photos of the four of you capture such a fun moment. I can definitely relate to the prolonged bedtime but it’s so true that a lot of things get easier as the children get older and having more sleep makes a huge difference. Glad to hear that your new house is feeling more and more like a home 🙂 #meandmineproject

  3. I love impromptu tripods – yay for playground equipment which is so often at just the right height! I think you’re right about the changes being gradual, you barely notice at the time and then you have to spot and really look to see how far our little ones have come – and they just keep changing!!

These are lovely – just simple and everyday family fun! I’m so pleased Holly is sleeping so much better in her new bed – it’s amazing that it’s had that impact! I’m definitely feeling that things are getting easier at the moment, although that realisation is making me a bit nervous for the second half of this year!

We took impromptu photos this month after being organised initially! I absolutely love those first few photos – what a great idea! Ours has started to give us the runaround at night and I have to constantly remind myself that she’s only young once and I’ll wish for these days again when she’s grown up x #meandmineproject

I love these pictures – you all look so happy. It looks like a fab park too. I’m still not getting a huge amount of sleep but Gabe is 18 months now and it is getting easier – I’m hoping over the next 6 months things will get even easier for us, and maybe Gabe will even start sleeping through the night! #MeandMine

Love these fun family captures. Great climbing skills too parents. We tried to get fun and silly for ours this month too. Always great to show how the family really is instead of posing each Hope you have a wonderful month ahead. #meandmineproject

Oh such lovely park shots, we need to get out more. The recent weather has been terrible but I can feel spring is on the the way now.
