Me and Mine A Family Project…September 2018

Me and Mine A Family Project…September 2018

I know it’s a cliche but September you flew by. I always find when we are back in school routine the weeks go by faster as they are all just the same.

It’s been a month of seeing the baby of the family follow her sisters footsteps and start school, which has been a big thing for us all, but I’ve definitely been feeling it the most. In fact I’m really struggling not having her home with me, I miss her so much. Holly is so easy to have at home, she just gets on with things and she will happily play on her own.

I know that she is going to love school and that she was ready for it, but I just miss her!

We also saw Alice start year two, which means she is now head of the school and looks after the little ones. She has been waiting for the day that Holly joined her at school and they love being there together.

As a family we’ve been trying to get used to our new routine, the girls swimming classes have moved to a Monday after school. Which is actually a much better day for us all, even if back to back lessons is hard work. It’s good to get it over and done at the start of the week.

Alice has also started gymnastics and she is just so excited to be doing it. She has been on the waiting list and patiently waiting to turn 6 years old to be able to join and when we got the message at the end of August that she got a place, she couldn’t have been happier.

The start of the month I was having to do double pick ups with Holly only on half days, but now she is in full time and that has made life a little less chaotic. I’m sure in a couple of weeks we will settle in to our new routine and it will become the normal.

It’s also only 3 weeks until half term and we have a few trips planned which we are all excited about.

Our photos this month are from a couple of different days out. I had planned on taking some family photos specifically for this post as it feels like I haven’t done that for ages. But I just ran out of time.

The start of the month we had one last weekend of sunshine and we headed to the beach for the day. It was one of those days where everything just clicked into place, everyone was in a good mood and we didn’t want to leave. It was a pretty perfect family day out.

We also took a trip to Windsor Castle this month, which the girls loved and I tried to get a photo of us with the castle in the background. I should have just asked someone to take it for us, but I just feel embarrassed doing that.

  1. Lovely photos of you all. Windsor Castle is close to where we live and yet I have never visited it! Glad that Alice is enjoying Year 2 and starting gymnastics and that Holly has settled in well. It must feel very quiet for you not having her home in the day – I know I find it quiet without Sophie. As you say though, not long until half term! #meandmineproject

Gorgeous photos of you all Laura! September is a strange month of new starts and new routines – so much for everyone to get used to (I was just thinking today that I’m really struggling). Roll on half term!

Such lovely happy photos this month! It must be so weird having them both at school – I know I’m going to find it odd not having Gabe around next year. I bet they love being at school together don’t they? I’m with you on the time flying though – I don’t know where September went! #MeandMine
