I’ve always loved May as it kindly gives us two bank holidays and extra time together as a family. It also has been a really quick month and I can’t quite believe it’s June tomorrow.
We had a quiet start to the month and it was nice to have weekends with no plans and we could go with flow on the day. It was the month that saw Alice learn to ride her bike without stabilisers and now we spend even more time outside, as she is just so proud of herself and constantly wants to be out on it.
The end of May was the perfect end. We headed to Wales for a few days with my parents to have an early birthday celebration for me. My wonderful mum and even brought presents and the best chocolate cake ever!
In typical Great British weather, the forecast was all over the place with it starting off saying it was going to be sunny, to the changing to full on torrential rain and thunderstorms. Which meant a quick change to the clothes I was planning on taking with us.
But, as it turned out we had gorgeous weather and only a little bit of rain when we were swimming, so it didn’t even affect us. I couldn’t have asked for more.
It was just the break we all needed. I love going away, a chance to reconnect as a family. The girls thrive on our undivided attention, away from the day to day routine and all the jobs that always need doing. Plus they had the added bonus of having my parents too.
I love the relationship they have with my parents, they adore them and it’s exactly what I was like when I was child. When I see Alice and my mum together, it reminds me so much of me and my nan. I couldn’t ask for more.
This gave us the perfect chance to get some family photos and with my mum on hand to take them too, it was even better. I also took a few selfies to capture us all in the moment.
I love these photos so much, the smiles on our faces are just beaming with happiness. Because there is no better feeling than being altogether on holiday.
And one of all us…6 people in a selfie, looking at the camera and smiling, that has to be a win!
