Well I did not expect our family photos for March to be off us in the snow. The first lot of snow arrived in early March and Alice’s school closed for 2 days, giving us lots of time to enjoy it and it was still there on Saturday for Andy to join in the fun too.
I didn’t take the photos of us with the intention of using them for this post, but purely to capture the fact that it was snowing in March. As we just couldn’t believe it. The girls loved it as you can imagine, they went on the sledge, had fun with their friends and of course we built a snowman.
Actually building a snowman wasn’t that easy as the snow was very dry and it didn’t want to stick together. It was only as it started to melt that we managed to get one built.
With the snow finally melting away, I honestly thought that was the last of it and spring would arrive. How wrong was I? A few weeks later, we got more snow. This time it arrived at the weekend and our plans got cancelled. Which meant that we spent another morning out in the snow.
There is nothing more exciting for children, than snow. I was trying to tell them that we don’t normally get this much snow in one year and to make the most of it. I of course had to take another family photo to capture the fact that it was snowing even later in March 🙂
The girls wanted to go back out in it after lunch and to be honest I was a bit over the snow by then. So, Andy took them out with some friends. They weren’t out long, I think even they were starting to get a bit bored of the snow. The next day Alice’s school was closed and they didn’t ask to go out in it once. Instead we had a day crafting, baking and relaxing at home.
It melted away fairly quickly and I really really hope that is now the last of it. It’s been wet and miserable since and now that Easter has arrived, surely spring it around the corner.
We’re now on our Easter holidays and I can’t wait to have Alice home with us for 2 weeks. Andy is also off work for the first week and we’ve got lots planned.
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter. Here are our family photos in the snow, in March…Crazy weather!!
