Me and Mine A Family Project…June 2018

Me and Mine A Family Project…June 2018

I feel like I’ve blinked and June has passed, it has flown by. But not without bringing us lots of fun as a family and birthday celebrations too.

We started the month with a trip to Warwick Castle and stayed in their new glamping tents. The girls loved it and the weather was gorgeous which always helps. It was a really lovely relaxing couple of days and Warwick Castle is just beautiful.

It has been really warm for most of June and we’ve been making the most of it. A few weekends ago we decided to have a last minute trip to the beach and whilst we were driving down there it was a bit cloudy and we were doubting our decision. But I’m really glad we went as the sun shone through the clouds and we had a brilliant time.

We love a trip to the beach, the girls have the best time and it can be a really relaxing day. Holly just loves the sand and will sit building sandcastles for hours.

June was also the month of my birthday and we headed to Brownsea Island with my family. It’s somewhere we’ve wanted to go for a while and as we’ve got National Trust passes, we only had to pay for the ferry for Andy and I, the girls were free. It’s a beautiful place and we even got to see a red squirrel, which is really rare and that was a treat.

We were then planning on having an afternoon on the beach, but it was just ridiculously windy and not much fun so we abandoned that idea. After a quick google we headed to a ten pin bowling place and then went to TGI Fridays for dinner. Sometimes the days that don’t go to plan end up being the best ones!

We’ve also had lots of days at home, where the girls have spent all day in the garden and we’ve scooted to the park. We love to have a mixture of days out and days at home. I think we all like them just as much.

My photos this month with the exception of the one taken on Brownsea Island, were taken on my birthday. My parents had come over and we were heading out for dinner with them and the girls. With my mum on hand to take a couple of photos we quickly snapped them in the garden. It’s always a lot easier when you have someone to take the photos for you.

  1. How lovely that you got to see a red squirrel at Brownsea Island. I was hoping to see one when we went to the Isle of Wight earlier this year but didn’t manage to. June sounds like it has been a lovely month for you all and it sounds like you enjoyed your birthday. I especially love that first photo of you all. I can’t quite get over how grown up Holly is looking all of sudden! Then again, I keep looking at Sophie and thinking exactly the same! #meandmineproject

Lovely pictures! I always try to get someone else to take the pictures for us too – but a tripod and a remote control have also been incredibly helpful for those times it’s just not possible. Warwick Castle glamping looks like it would be great fun! #meandmine

These are gorgeous Laura – I love the girls’ skirts! It sounds like it’s been such a lovely month for you all. It’s hard to have a bad month when the weather is so lovely, isn’t it! I’m hoping we’ll get our beach fix in in July – I’m craving feeling the sand between my toes 🙂

Gorgeous photos Laura. We don’t live far from Warwick Castle, so it’s on our list of places to visit this summer. I hope you had a lovely birthday x
