August is a crazy busy month for us as a family, but also a month which is full of fun, laughter, family time and lots of birthday’s!
We have both the girls birthdays and Andy’s birthday within a 10 day period and Andy always plans his 2 weeks holiday to make sure he isn’t working on the girls birthday.
This year we were on holiday for Alice’s birthday which she has been ridiculously excited about since we asked if she was ok with that. Which was a silly question, as apparently its the best thing ever to be on holiday for your birthday.
We headed to Cornwall a couple of days before her birthday and whilst Alice was poorly for a couple of days while we were away, the rest of our week was amazing. It was really lovely to spend some time together without the day to day routine and its the one time of the year when Andy really relaxes. The girls just love having him home.
We ended the week with Holly’s 4th birthday, I can’t quite believe that our baby of the family is 4 years old and heading to school next week. We celebrated with a trip to Paultons Park and she had a brilliant time.
Whilst August is an exhausting month for me, there is no let up with parties, birthdays and getting all the presents sorted. I also love it too. I love how excited the girls get for each other, to see what they have been given for their birthdays. I love that when its Alice’s birthday, Holly knows its not too long for her to wait for her own birthday.
Add to all this our family holiday too, it really is a busy time. But I also wouldn’t change it for the world. I love that I will never have to share my girls birthday with school, that I will always have them home with me to fill their day with fun family time.
Yes, August you have left me exhausted, but you have also left me with so many happy memories. Ones that I hope will stay with my girls too. As we get ready for school next week, it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to August.
My photos this month are from our 2 weeks together, when I took as many family photos as I could to remember our holiday together.
