This week has been anything but ordinary as it’s not every week we go on holiday and while I wish it was, it probably wouldn’t be as special if we did.
To have a whole week away with my three favourite people has been amazing. We headed off the day after Holly turned three, full of expectations, excitement and wearing the biggest smiles.
As we headed over the Severn bridge and entered Wales I could feel my shoulders drop and the relaxation of holiday wash over me. I’ve been looking forward to our week away all summer, knowing that we had it to look forward to and to have Andy home with us too.
It’s been a week of fun, adventures and most of all we made lots of memories. The girls have been so well behaved, I’m sure having our undivided attention makes a difference. They have loved this time together, they are at an age where they really play together and understand each other. It melts my heart watching them together.
We went to Tenby beach where I forgot the swimwear and the girls went in the sea in their t-shirt and knickers. Just like I would have done many times as a child, they thought it was the best thing ever. And thanks to potty training Holly I had plenty of spare knickers! Andy brought the biggest ice creams, that even Alice couldn’t finish it!
We’ve been swimming and Alice conquered her fear and went down the big slide, which she loved so much she went down another 7 times and begged us to go back the next day.
The girls brought fishing nets and we found the most beautiful beach to go rock pooling. It was really peaceful and the views were amazing. It was funny watching the girls try to find things in the rock pools and Holly basically filling hers up with mud and sand.
We laughed, we wore silly holiday grins on our faces all week and we’ve just been us.
It’s been one of my favourite holidays and I hope that a part of it is stored away in the girls memory bank forever. I know it is for me!
