“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
by Kahlil Gibran
Last week, was a long week. The girls didn’t finish school until Friday and we were counting down the days. I also fell poorly on Thursday and it really swiped me out. It’s only been today that I felt I could leave the house and do something.
A couple of weeks ago we thought we would plan a festive day out, but one that didn’t involve seeing Father Christmas. We decide to go to Winchester Christmas Market and go ice skating, have a hot chocolate and a nice lunch. I was a little bit worried about how busy it would be, but we decided to just go for it.
I’m so glad that we did! It turned out that the Market part actually finished on Thursday, which meant it was no where near as busy as normal. The girls also loved that we did the park and ride into Winchester, they love a bus trip.
The ice skating was popular and tickets had sold out. But thankfully I managed to get a penguin each for the girls, as I was taking them on the ice on my own.
It was Alice’s first time with skates that had 1 blade and she did really well. Holly just wanted to do it by herself, of course, but her concentration was not great and she would be looking around and not where she was going!
But it was great fun and we had a brilliant time. It might become our new family tradition.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!
