“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

by Kahlil Gibran

Oh my goodness I could eat Holly! This photo gives me such fuzzy feelings, I just adore it and her. That hat, her smile, those eyes that melt into me.

This week at Rainbows was a special one, all the children that had started in September were going to take their Rainbows promise. Alice had been practising it, and when I picked her up from school that day she said listen mum and recited it by heart and word perfect. She was very excited!

Towards the end of Rainbows the parents who had a child making their promise were invited to come and watch. They were all sat around and there was a rainbow which they had to jump over. Each new Rainbow was paired with an older Rainbow and Alice choose her friend to take her up to make the promise. It was really sweet to watch and I videoed it to remember forever.

Here is a really badly taken photo of Alice just after she had taken her promise and I don’t think she could have a more beaming smile!

Oh Holly is so delicious in that hat. I remember doing my Brownie promise (Rainbows didn’t exist back then).

That is a gorgeous hat and she also looks proud of herself in her rainbows outfit – we’re desperate to get J into Rainbows but there’s such a wait #LivingArrows

I love your photo of Holly and her hat and coat are beautiful, we definitely need colour for this cold miserable weather! Congratulations Alice, on becoming a fully fledged rainbow, she does look really happy & proud! x

They are both lovely photos – and big congratulations to Alice on making her promise. I was in Brownies and Guides and my parents are both Scout leaders so I can’t wait until Toby is old enough for Beavers and he can become a part of it too. #LivingArrows
