“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
by Kahlil Gibran
It’s finally the school holidays with Alice’s last day on Tuesday. We’ve had a quiet start to the holidays as Alice is tired and needs to recharge her batteries.
She came home from school with a kite she had made and couldn’t wait to fly it. It’s amazing how a piece of paper and wool can bring so much happiness.
Holly’s photo isn’t the best photo because it was a quick snap on my phone. She is such a dare devil and wants to do everything. Andy recently took the girls to the park and Alice came back telling me daddy had been teaching Holly how to go down the firman’s pole. I had always kept Holly away from it, fearing she would just fall down. Andy’s theory is its better to teach her how to do it, than for her to just go for it when we are not looking. Which I guess is true!
Anyway that is exactly what happened to me this week. Alice had got caught on the swing and I was just detangling her, when I turned round to see Holly leaping onto the fireman’s pole. Her little face said it all, a mixture of please don’t be cross mummy and excitement that she had done it! There was no stopping her then…
