“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

by Kahlil Gibran

Holly and I had met up with my parents for my dad’s birthday and on the way back to the car she wanted to look at the ducks (we will forget the fact, that they were actually swans!). She went from one side of the bridge to the other, to see them swim by.

It was a miserable day and we spent the day cleaning and tidying up. Alice found her play mobil set that she got for her birthday and I had completely forgotten about it (I felt like a bad mummy!). We built it together and she sat and played with it, making up stories with the little people.

I love Playmobil but my toddler is still a bit too young to appreciate it, so we’re keeping hers in its boxes. For now we have the same fun with duplo!

Such lovely pictures this week! Sometimes the forgotten about presents can be the best ones when a few months after your birthday you play with them for the first time! #LivingArrows

Love Holly and the ducks – Max calls swans ‘big ducks’ and loves them (I’m not so keen!) Last time one reared up and flapped his wings, Max did an impression of him and then the swan started making it’s way towards us – I think he thought they were having some kind of swan-off! I grabbed Max and ran!! #LivingArrows

Ooh we don’t have any playmobil toys, but I think my daughter would love that set! She’s got the right kind of imagination for that kind of play, you know? Love the photo of Holly too, her bunches are just so cute! x #LivingArrows

Ducks (or swans) are such a draw at that age.. I wish it would last forever. You didn’t forget you were saving it for a rainy day! Such a bonus to have a new toy when the weather in bad helps everyone stay sane! In our house Monkey would have been bouncing off the walls! Xx #LivingArrows

I bet she loved finding a new toy ready to play with, don’t feel bad :). Parker loves watching the ducks (or any type of bird haha) too xx

I don’t know why but swans freak me out – I bet it was adorable watching her though? I love finding forgotten presents too #livingarrows

Oh look at Holly’s little pigtails – so cute! I’m glad she enjoyed looking at the swans. And Alice looks like she’s having a lovely time with her Playmobil – it’s fab when they rediscover forgotten toys isn’t it? #LivingArrows
