This year I am joining in with Stevie’s Liked and Loved linky. It’s a chance for me to look back at the month and share with you what I’ve liked and loved.
April I’ve loved you! I love that you brought with you the Easter holidays, the bluebells and the sun.
Here is what I liked and loved in April…
As a little girl I would have loved to have a playhouse in our garden like this and I love seeing my girls play so happily in it. I can see they are going to have so much fun this summer and for years to come.
Disney On Ice
As a big Disney fan and also love ice skating, seeing the Disney On Ice shows is a match made in heaven for me. I’m always amazed at the skill of the dancers and of course I love to see how happy the girls are watching it.
Family Time At Easter
I couldn’t wait for the Easter holidays to arrive and have both my girls home together. We had a lovely first week together and in the second week Andy was off too and it was brilliant to have us all home. We had days out, days at home and lots of lovely snuggles on the sofa. I really didn’t want it to end and now I’m counting down to half term which is only 4 weeks away!
Since we moved house before Christmas I’ve slowly been making it feel like a home and accessorising it. It’s probably my favourite part and I seen hours browsing for the right thing! I knew I wanted to create a photo wall in part of our lounge and when I saw these photo shelves, I knew they were perfect. It’s not quite finished as you can see in the photo, one of the frames was damaged. But I thought I would share with you anyway, as I love it. It’s really brought to life this corner of the room and I love seeing all the photos on the wall.
Time With Alice
During the first week of Easter I had a day with Alice, its something that I try and do every school holidays. Holly goes and spends the day with grandparents and everyone is happy. It’s a chance for Alice and I to have some one on one time, which is so rare, but so important to have. We get to do things that maybe Holly is too young to do and we always make sure we fit in some baking. This time we had a morning at home baking and then a scoot to the park. In the afternoon we met our friends, as she too had sometime with just her eldest son. So we took the big kids bowling and it was lovely. They had great fun and I know Alice would love to go again.
Alice has been talking about bluebells a lot recently, they must be doing something at school, and I wanted to go to some bluebells woods. Because well, I’m a blogger and who doesn’t want the bluebell photos on their Instagram! I thought we might have to go to some about 30 minutes from us, but then to my delight I found out there were some right on our doorstep. Alice was so excited to go and it was a gorgeous afternoon. I know we will be popping back again before they all go.
Swimming With Holly
I started taking both my girls swimming when they were 14 weeks old and when I had both of them at home that meant going twice a week. I’ll be honest it became a bit of a chore getting in the water with them both, but I knew that it would be worth it when we went on holidays and they could swim. Last July our swimming teacher went on maternity leave and there were no suitable lessons for the girls available. I managed to move Alice to a different place and she has been going since September and no longer needs me in the pool. I’ve had Holly on the waiting list and last week we got a call to say she had a place. I took her on Monday and she loved it. I’m still in the pool with her, but I no longer mind. I’m back to loving it again too, as its only once a week and to see her happy face makes it all worthwhile.
Well this last week of April has been pretty chilly and I’m hoping May will bring the sunshine and this time it will stick around!
