When I pregnant with Holly and found out that she was a little girl I can’t tell you how happy I was to give Alice a sister. Throughout the rest of my pregnancy I just assumed I would have another little girl just like Alice, who would probably look a bit different to her.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
For a start they don’t look that alike, I think you can tell they are sisters but Alice takes more after Andy. whereas Holly is more me. As Holly gets older they do look a bit more alike.
And as for their personalities they are chalk and cheese. This has meant bringing them up so far has been a very different experience, which I was not expecting. But that I really quite like, well most of it.
As soon as Holly was old enough to sit and play with her toys she has loved to do it. I don’t know if it’s a second child thing, or just who she is. But she will happily entertain herself no problem.
There isn’t a day that goes by that I will make a remark to Andy or quietly think to myself about how nicely she is sat playing with her toys. I could honestly watch her all day long, listening to her imagination as she plays.
At the moment her favourite is her Peppa Pig toys, she has always loved them but the last six months as she has grown up she plays even more with them.
Out in the garden she is just the same, but in the sand pit. She loves it. We nearly sold this sandpit when we lived in our old house and I’m so pleased that we didn’t as Holly will play it in for hours.
She reminds me a lot of myself as a child, I used to play with my toys just like Holly does, making up games. Alice doesn’t do quite as much as Holly and definitely not as young as two.
Don’t ever change my sweet little girl, I adore you.
