Everything Everything, Skirts and Birthday Celebrations…#LittleLoves

I’m back with my monthly Little Loves post, to talk all about the little things that I’ve loved in June and what a great month it’s been.

But the weeks have also flown by and I can’t believe that its going to be July at the weekend.

I read a brilliant book called Everything Everything, by Nicola Yoon*. I honestly couldn’t put it down and I haven’t had that with a book for a while. There is one point in it where it takes a turn I was not expecting and I just had to keep reading. I honestly can’t recommend it enough, it’s a great read for this summer.

My guilty pleasure is Love Island. We started watching it last series when one of Andy’s friends told him how funny it is and we’ve been watching ever since. It’s SO addictive! But it also means that I’m switching off my MacBook at 9pm to watch it, which has actually been really nice.

A couple of weeks ago I headed to Suzanne’s house, she had invited a few bloggers and a photographer called Stephanie, from Summers Photography. Steph gave us some tips and advice on how to use all the buttons on our camera and what we can achieve with them. She had an Olympus camera like me and had brought along a 45mm lens which I tried out too. It was a brilliant day to spend with some lovely bloggers chatting about photography and blogging.

I’ve since brought a 45mm lens and I’m really loving the photos that it can achieve, like this one.

I brought this gorgeous skirt from Matalan, its hard to find skirts long enough for me and I love this one. It has a split up one leg, which has been lovely in the sunny weather to have some air!!

We’ve made plans for a little trip to Jersey in a couple of weeks and I’m really excited. I used to go on holiday to Jersey as a child and I can’t wait to revisit it. Andy and the girls have never been and we’ve got a lovely hotel on the beach. It’s nice to have it in the diary to look forward to at the end of term.

And Lastly…

June was my birthday month and I had some lovely days celebrating it. We had a day with my family and we visited Brownsea Island which was beautiful. Andy took me to do an indoor sky dive on my birthday which was great fun and something I always wanted to do. We then had dinner at a local restaurant with the girls and my parents after school.

My friend took me to spa for the day and tonight I’m out for dinner with some friends. I think I can safely say I’ve celebrated well!

We’re now on the countdown to the end of term, but before that we’ve got a trip on a Caribbean Cruise ship this weekend and a trip to Alton Towers next weekend. I will have lots to share with you in my July Little Loves.

Can’t resist a bit of Love Island, I read Everything Everything last year, she’s one of my fav authors! Sounds like you’ve had a rather busy and exciting month #LittleLoves

I read Everything Everything a few months ago and I wasn’t so keen. I think I’d read/seen something with a similar theme just before so guessed the twist, and spoilt it for myself! Oops.
Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday, and you have a very exciting month to come! Looking forward to reading about it next month.x

I’ve been on a bit of a reading mission recently and whenever I get a recommendation I buy it haha! So I’m definitely going to look into Everything Everything! Love that Matalan skirt! Glad you had a nice birthday! 🙂 x

  6. My teenage stepdaughter loved Everything Everything and keeps telling me I must read it. Jersey is such a beautiful place – we spent a week there a couple of years ago and I fell in love with it. My girls keep asking to go back. I hope you have a wonderful time! It sounds like July is already a busy month for you – have fun!

Wish I found it difficult to find skirts long enough ha ha! Thanks for the mention and for coming to my house – it was quite an expensive day all in all with the purchases we made as a result! That book sounds so good; I’m looking for a page turner as I’ve not found one for a while either. I’ve not got a great big list of them after reading through all these Little Loves posts! xx

What a fabulous birthday you had! I watched the Everything Everything film and loved it, been meaning to pinch my daughter’s copy of the book and give it a read, thanks for the reminder! I’d love to visit Jersey, it’s one of those places on my rapidly growing list of places to visit. Have a great time! #littleloves

What a lovely month you had! Love all the birthday treats. I’m hinting at a spa day for mine too!
Such a great idea of Suzanne’s to get local bloggers together to share ideas and photos. x
