One of my biggest passions is interiors. I love the whole process of deciding on a style, theme, colours etc for a room and then see where I can take it. I spend hours looking for the right furniture, the perfect print and of course all the trinkets. Moving house a year ago has meant that we are slowly making our house a home. Some rooms are finished, like the girls bedrooms.
But there is still so much I want to do, it all comes down to time and money. I thought today I would share with you my tips for the winter when it comes to interiors.
There is nothing better than making changes around your home when the seasons change and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
- When winter comes knocking it’s the perfect excuse to curl up on the sofa with a good book, a hot chocolate and get cosy. Adding some cosy blankets to your sofa during the winter can make a feature out of them, add some colour and they are there ready to pull over you to keep warm.
- Add some gorgeous textured rugs to keep those feet warm. They also add character and colour to a room. Especially if you have wooden or tiled floors, they can be very unforgiving in the winter.
- In your bedroom add a throw to the end of the bed. Make it fit with the colours and styles of your room, this will create a different look to the room and when it gets cold at night, you have an extra layer to have on you.
- Bring the outdoors in. Add some greenery to your rooms, that could be with house plants or some gorgeous flower arrangements they sell at this time of year with twigs in.
While it’s fun to make these changes to our homes, its’ important that we think about safety to especially in the winter months. Check those locks, make sure you won’t go cold this winter and check your heating system and make sure your home is insured for all eventualities. It’s important we have use companies like Chilli Insurance, to give us peace of mind.
I asked my fellow bloggers what there tips would be too…
