I love interiors and have written a lot about our home and how we’re slowly making it ours. As we change through the seasons it’s nice to add new elements to our homes. To make small changes, that can make a big difference to the look and feel of a room.
I’m going to share with you some ideas on how you can update your home this summer.
Cushions and Throws.
I love to have lots of cushions on our sofas and on our bed. Even though Andy questions the need for them on our bed, as we take them off at night. I love how they can make a bed look a lot nicer with them on. Changing your cushions, whether that’s by colour or design, can really transform the look of a room and they don’t have to cost a lot.
I may not be the best person at keeping house plants alive, but I do love to have them indoors. It’s nice to have a bit of the outdoors, indoors in you know what I mean. I’ve found that you can pick house plants up really cheaply at supermarkets and its just a case of keeping a look out for them. I buy most of my pots from places like TKMaxx and Tesco.
A great way to bring some life to an otherwise plain wall, is using wall stickers. They are really easy to use and there is something for everyone. Whether you are looking for inspirational quotes wall stickers for your kitchen or lounge.
Or adding something to a children’s bedroom. Because they are easily removable it can be a great way to decorate a childrens room and let the room grow with them.
Andy always laughs at me because I don’t think a room is complete without a rug. Whilst they can be expensive, if you keep a look out for sales you can get them more reasonable priced. You may not want to change them too often, but they are another great way to change the look of a room and add a splash of colour.
How do you like to update your home?
