I love it when toys that I loved and played with as a child, are either still around for my children to play with, or they make a comeback.
When the Trolls movie came out, my sister in law took Alice and my niece to see it at the cinema. Alice came back full of excitement to tell me all about Poppy and singing the songs.
A few months later it was showing on the mini club at the cinema and as the tickets are only £2.49 for both children and adults (bargain!) I thought I would take a chance at Holly sitting through it and go along. My mum came with us and Alice was more than happy to see it again.
Holly was mesmerised from the minute it started and her love for Poppy was born. Both my girls love Trolls, but Holly has a really affection for Poppy. When we went to do build-a-bear for their birthday’s it was a Poppy Bear that she made and loves.
I was recently sent a wonderful Trolls bundle of goodies to keep them entertained over the festive period and I knew my 2 Troll loving girls were going to love it and I wasn’t wrong.
It’s a really busy time of year and the weekends are full of lots of exciting plans, which is wonderful. But the children do get tired and they need a balance. Yesterday Holly and I had a lazy day at home, one of our favourite types of day. Holly is a little girl that loves to play with her toys and with the weather cold and miserable we had no plans to leave the house.
It was a perfect day to play with our new troll toys. We were sent the Hair In The Air Poppy and Holly squealed with delight when she saw her. As you can see it’s all about the hair with this doll, her hair is 14 inches long.
If you press the flower on her dress Poppy comes to life, with her hair lighting up
Poppy comes with a comb and as you style and brush her hair you activate the lights and sounds. There is even a special styling pattern that unlocks a song too.
Holly loves her! Hair In The Air Poppy RRP is £28.99, but it’s currently available at Amazon for £18.14. It is also available from Argos and Toys R Us.
Anyone that has watched Trolls will know all about the Troll Tree, known as the, POD’ular Troll Tree. The tree comes with 4 hanging pods, which you can rearrange and hang anywhere you wish to. To let children use their own imaginations as they play.
It also comes with a small poppy doll and it would have been nice to have a few other characters included to play in the tree with Poppy.
There is a slide that Poppy can slide down, which Holly just loved.
And Holly also loved to let Poppy have a sleep at the bottom, curled up in the leaf.
There is also a lounge area that opens open, a place for them to relax.
And her favourite part is the zip wire. She loves going on a zip wire herself and it’s great to have one for Poppy too.
The POD’ular Troll Tree RRP is £44.99, Amazon are currently selling it for £37.99. It is also available at Argos and Toys R Us.
As soon as Holly saw the Poppy t-shirt she couldn’t wait to wear it. Priced at £6 from Asda, you can’t go wrong with it.
Alice was sent the Trolls Christmas Sweatshirt which is perfect timing with the National Christmas Jumper day on the 15th December, in aid of Save The Children. This is also from Asda, priced at £10.
With the sweatshirt Alice was sent a pair of Troll leggings, which are great for after school. Also from Asda, priced at £5.
The girls were really excited to see there was a new Trolls movie to watch. Trolls Holiday is not a full movie, it is about 25 minutes long. It’s filled with the same love and happy songs as the first Trolls movie and they loved watching it again, and again and again!
The Trolls Holiday DVD is available from Amazon, priced at £4.99.
When we settled down to watch the Trolls Holiday, the girls were really excited when I produced a Trolls chocolate bar as a treat to eat.
Each pack has 6 small bars in and they are the perfect treat size.
One thing that is really loved amongst children of this generation is blind bags, They go crazy for them. Inside the Trolls blind bag you will receive a Troll character, but as with all blind bags you don’t know what is inside until you open it.
There are 24 to collect and the RRP is £3.99. They make the perfect stocking filler. Amazon currently have them available at £2. They are also available at Argos and Toys R Us.
We were also sent 2 Troll books. Alice is really enjoying reading and it’s nice to have some books from one of her favourite films to keep her interest.
Holly is a little girl that has a very logical mind and really takes to doing puzzles. She amazes me at the ones she can do at her age.
She loved doing the Trolls puzzle and she has great concentration to get it done.
I can see that Trolls are going to continue being a part of our life for a while and its one film that I don’t mind watching over and over. I love how happy it is and the songs are great too.
I have a special code for you to use at Build A Bear. £5 off £20 on buildabear.co.uk using the code – TROLLS5. Head to Build A Bear to use. But be quick it’s only valid until 13th December 2017.
The girls are definitely not going to get bored this festive period thanks to Trolls.
Disclosure: We were kindly sent our Trolls bundle for the purpose of this post. All views, photos and opinions are my own.
