I can’t believe it’s been a month since I wrote my last post about my girls, the weeks are just rolling by at the moment. The best thing about this last month is we had half term, which meant a whole week with both my girls at home together.
It’s also been a month where I’ve really seen Holly starting to go from a toddler into a little girl. She is growing up right in front of my eyes and in a few short months my youngest will be 3 years old. How did that happen!
With these changes and what I really noticed over half term is the bond between my girls growing, if possible, even more. Holly now understands a lot more, which means that they can communicate better. She wants to join in Alice’s games and actually do it properly and not just ruin it for Alice.
I have to say that we had a pretty incredible week together, where they played beautifully together and there were a lot less squabbles. I think this comes with having quality time together and not just the time after school when we’re all a bit tired and grumpy.
I always knew that Alice was made for the role of big sister. She is very maternal, sensible and the most loving little girl. Don’t get me wrong when Holly annoys her, she is also a very typical 4 year old in her response.
And my little Holly looks up to her big sister and just wants to do everything she does. She also does a pretty good job at actually doing everything Alice does. She is the adventurous one, my little daredevil. She spurs Alice on and brings the fun side to their relationship.
The best thing I ever did was give them each other.
My photos this month were taken on a trip to a local National Trust with my parents. The sun was shining and I took along some bubbles for them to play with after our picnic. In the end my parents were the ones blowing the bubbles and the girls were running around chasing them. The joy and the laughter coming from these two was infectious and they had lots of fun.
I’m sorry (not sorry!) there is a lot of photos, I loved them all…
