I was determined that after a few months of photos of my girls indoors, this month I would plan it and get some outdoor shots. But, it has been so cold and we’ve all been a bit under the weather that it just hasn’t happened.
This last month I find myself watching my girls more and more. The way they play together, the way they love each other, it just completely melts my heart. Holly looks up to her big sister, she idolises her and I know that she is her favourite person and I’m ok with that.
And Alice, well Alice was always destined to be a big sister. She is such a caring and thoughtful little girl, she is always looking out for her little sister. She loves it when she is able to help her with something, as she is now old enough to do it. I always wanted to have two children and I will forever be grateful that I was able to give Alice the best gift in life…a sibling.
Yes, they argue and squabble and annoy each other in the way that only a sibling can. When in the next breath they are telling them I love you. To hear Holly say ‘I love you so much Alice’, is just the cutest thing ever. Alice gets this little grin on her face when she hears it, the same one that she got the first time Holly said her name. It’s these moments that I want to remember forever.
Next week we’ve got half term and I can’t wait to have my two girls together for a week. We have a few plans with friends and a couple of days to just be us, the trio. I know at some point in the week I will be pulling my hair out, and cursing half term. But deep down I love it when we are all together, even with all the squabbling I wouldn’t change that for the world.
Being a mum to two girls is a dream I once had, a dream that at several points in my life I didn’t think would ever come true. But, it did and it goes to show that dreams really can come true…
So, my photos this month of my girls are them together at home, which started with Alice reading Holly a story and ended up with them being crazy. There are also some cute ones of them together in their den, when they didn’t know I was taking them.
