Last week we were really lucky to have some sunshine arrive and it got me excited for the summer. We spent a couple of days out in our garden and it made me realise that I really need to prioritise getting our garden looking nice. We moved into our home just over 2 years ago and we’ve been gradually making it our own, but the garden hasn’t been touched.
At the moment the garden is just a patio area and grass, with a path leading down to the garage. It’s plenty big enough for us and we have the girls playhouse and trampoline in it, which they love and I can’t see that leaving the garden for a while.
What I really want is to get some new furniture for the patio area. Our current furniture is about 5 years old and is starting to look a little tired. Plus we brought it for a different size garden and I think a larger set would suit the area better.
I’ve been looking at Fishpools garden range, as they do the grey rattan furniture that I love. I would love to have a corner sofa area, where the girls can rest in the summer and get some shade. But that in the evenings it can be a space that Andy and I can enjoy too. There is nothing nicer than putting the girls to bed and sitting outside in the evening sun.
I’m not really a gardener, but I would love to have some pretty plants around the garden and I think the best way to do this is to have a few pot plants dotted around. It will add some colour to the garden too.
The girls really want to have a bug hotel, or a bird table and this would be a great addition to the garden. It’s great to get them involved in it and to take an interest in the birds and insects.
What I can’t decide if we need or not, is a table and chairs set. We have one at the moment, but it’s not used that much. The girls prefer to have picnics on the grass and I wondering if the sofa and table set would be ok to eat at if we wanted to. It would free up some space on the patio too.
What garden furniture do you have, I would love to hear some ideas?
