This week has been like no other week, as I actually went away for a couple of days to Scotland with some of my favourite bloggers. It took me 4 years of being a mum before I left my girls, but over the last 18 months I’ve realised that it’s actually ok to go away occasionally and be Laura for a few days.
It makes me a better mum, wife and person and now the girls are older it’s easier to leave. Even if I do miss them SO much, it’s lovely to come home to cuddles.
I’ve always been a book worm and love nothing better than holding a good book in my hands. But when it comes to travelling the kindle is the best invention, especially as I was only taking hand luggage.
I downloaded the new Giovanna Fletcher book, ****, I adore her books and style of writing. I get lost in her characters and every single book I’m dying to get to the end to know what happens, but I also never want it to finish as I love them so much.
I’m a big fan of the TV series friends, last year I went to FriendsFest with my cousin and we had an amazing, a real must for any Friends fans.
I was very excited to hear the news that Friends was coming to Netflix. We love Netflix and now I have my favourite TV series at my fingertips is amazing. I have the whole collection on video, yes I’m that old, but no longer have a video recorder!
The two days that the girls are at school and preschool are now being spent with me watching the whole series from the beginning for the millionth time. I started yesterday and it was just what I needed after a busy travelling day.
Laughter! And is there any sound better than this. Spending time with some of my favourite bloggers meant there was a lot of laughter. Laughing is so good for the soul and it definitely did mine some good.
With me being away I haven’t really made anything more than a cup of coffee! But let me tell you this was a pretty amazing cup of coffee. I got to drink it hot, with no one making demands on me and with the most stunning view.
What amazed me the most was I thought we were going to be freezing cold the whole time, but we were really lucky with the weather and the sun shone. I never thought I would be sat outside with no coat on!
We were very lucky to have been given a gorgeous Charles Conrad watch for our trip away and I wore it the whole time. In fact it won’t be coming off my wrist anytime soon. I love it! I have a real thing about watches, I just love them and this is totally my style of watch and I’ve never had one with the date on it too.
As much as I loved having a couple of days away there was nothing I loved more this week, than the sound of the girls squeals of happiness as they heard my key in the front door and the door opening. Their little feet couldn’t get them to me fast enough and for the first time in a very long time, I had to try and carry both girls at the same time as they wanted to give me the biggest hug.
There is nothing I love more than 4 tiny arms wrapped around my neck!
A different week for me this week, it will definitely be a more normal week next time.
