This summer it will be two years ago that we did a family photo shoot with the girls, it was something that I planned carefully. I choose the timings, so that Holly could sit up, give us a big smile, but not be able to run away.
The photos that we got on the day are still to this day some of my favourite photos. Until fairly recently this photo of me and my girls was the photo I had on the front page of my blog and across my social media profiles. I only changed it because Holly is no longer a baby and it didn’t really reflect us now. Plus Andy kept commenting that he wasn’t in the photo!
Every month we take family photos as part of the me and mine project, until I started doing this the only photos we had all together were from the photo shoot we had done.
And whilst the photos that we take as family are lovely and I will always treasure them. They are never going to be as good as having a professional photographer to capture the moments.
With spring around the corner, we are looking to having some new family photos taken. Holly is now the same age Alice was when we had these taken and it would be lovely to have photos taken of the girls at the same point in their life.
The photographer we used last time is currently on maternity leave, so how do you go about finding the right person for the job?
I’ve been reviewing a site called Bidvine, and you can literally find the right person for any job or service you are looking for.
You start of putting in what you are looking for and your postcode, easy enough. Then it asks you some specific questions to make sure it targets the right people for you.
I got asked things like, how many people were going to be in the photoshoot. Where did we want the photos to be taken, I like them to be outdoors.
It asked me what budget I had, how I would like to receive the photos and how far I was prepared to travel. Also, what style of photo shoot I wanted and I could choose more than one option.
All this is then shared with professionals that match your requirements. If you give permission they share your email address, but never your phone number, unless you specify that you are happy for this to be passed on. You might need to be contacted urgently
You will receive bids back normally within a few hours and the professionals have up to a maximum of four days to reply.
I was impressed with how quickly I received emails back and that they matched my requirements.
If you like what you receive, you hire and work with the professional directly. Once you’ve used them you can pop back to Bidvine to leave a review, which helps the next person searching for someone to use.
Being a mum of two young children, I don’t have much time to be spending hours searching for family photographers, contacting them, only to find they don’t meet my requirements. With Bidvine all this is gone.
Having recently moved house we have a few jobs that need doing and now having used Bidvine, I will be back to find the right person for these jobs too.
Now, all I need to do is decide who to use and there are so many fantastic family photographers to choose from…
Disclosure: This is a collaborate post with Bidvine.
