Since the day Holly was born I have been told that she is a little mini me, it started when my mum came to meet her in hospital and ever since, she constantly says little things ‘Oh, she is so like you’ or ‘you used to do that when you were little’…
I remember the first time I posted a picture of Holly on Facebook and along with all the lovely congratulation messages, there was a lot of ‘she looks so much like you’. Normally I struggle to see a likeness in babies, yes sometimes in the odd photo or if they give a certain look you may see it. But, even I can see how much she looks like me and this has only become more so, as she has got older.
As Holly’s hair started to grow, I could see the start of little curls, the same curls that I had as a toddler. I just adore them, when she sits on my lap I love to wind my finger round them.
They bounce around as she runs and the sun shines through them on a bright day.
I can’t wait for it to be long enough so I can put her hair up in cute curly bunches, she will look adorable. In a funny sort of a way they suit her cute mischievous nature.
Alice’s hair is as straight as can be, their hair couldn’t be more different. But I love that about them, their personalities are so different too.
I know that I need to make the most of these curls because if Holly carries on to be just like me, they won’t be here forever. My curls dropped out when I was about 3 1/2 years old and my hair couldn’t be any straighter now.
While I love that I have a little mini me, part of me hopes that she keeps the curls forever…
