Curls…The Ordinary Moments

Curls…The Ordinary Moments

Since the day Holly was born I have been told that she is a little mini me, it started when my mum came to meet her in hospital and ever since, she constantly says little things ‘Oh, she is so like you’ or ‘you used to do that when you were little’…

I remember the first time I posted a picture of Holly on Facebook and along with all the lovely congratulation messages, there was a lot of ‘she looks so much like you’. Normally I struggle to see a likeness in babies, yes sometimes in the odd photo or if they give a certain look you may see it. But, even I can see how much she looks like me and this has only become more so, as she has got older.

As Holly’s hair started to grow, I could see the start of little curls, the same curls that I had as a toddler. I just adore them, when she sits on my lap I love to wind my finger round them.

They bounce around as she runs and the sun shines through them on a bright day.

I can’t wait for it to be long enough so I can put her hair up in cute curly bunches, she will look adorable. In a funny sort of a way they suit her cute mischievous nature.

Alice’s hair is as straight as can be, their hair couldn’t be more different. But I love that about them, their personalities are so different too.

I know that I need to make the most of these curls because if Holly carries on to be just like me, they won’t be here forever. My curls dropped out when I was about 3 1/2 years old and my hair couldn’t be any straighter now.

While I love that I have a little mini me, part of me hopes that she keeps the curls forever…

Oh gorgeous – my Meme had curls when she was younger but as her hair has grown they have gone although she still has a wave to her hair. xx

Ah I love this post mainly cause I can relate to it so much. Both my girls have exactly the same kind of hair that I had when I was little, sadly Mads are growing out now (just like mine did) but LL still has the most amazing ones. I am sad when they go cause I know they will. Holly’s hair is beautiful. xx

Aww I love baby and toddler curls! Z had a hair full of blonde curls but once his sister was born, his Dad decided it was time to cut them off. They’ve never grown back! Beautiful photos.

Curls are the best aren’t they? J has a full head of ringlets but desperately needs it cut, I’m not looking forward to seeing the curls go x

  5. Aww her curls are adorable! All three of mine have my poker straight hair, I was rather hoping one of them at least would have their Daddy’s baby curls! But as they are otherwise the spitting image of him then i can’t mind too much 🙂
