Before you have a baby you obviously know that your body is going change and grow with the baby inside you, but I didn’t really give much thought to what my body would be like after the birth of my baby. I knew it wouldn’t snap back to what it was previously, but I wasn’t worried or even that bothered about it.
I had always wanted to have children and whatever that meant, I was ok with. After having Alice, I breastfed her for 6 months and I definitely think that helped with me losing some of the weight. It wasn’t a conscious thing and I didn’t give it much thought. I still enjoyed meeting mum friends for a coffee and a cake and just enjoying being a mummy to Alice.
I then fell pregnant again when Alice was 16 months old and looking back at photos of both my pregnancies I would say that I put on more weight with my first, than my second. I think the reason for this is, with both my girls I had hyperemesis gravidarum and with Holly it started earlier and went on for longer. Which meant I didn’t gain as much weight at the beginning. Plus second time around, I had a toddler to run around after and that also helped to keep the weight off.
Again with Holly I breastfed her and the weight did come off. I also suffered with post natal depression and anxiety following Holly arriving and I would say that this is what caused me to loose a lot of weight. Friends would ask me if I was ok, as I had lost a lot of weight, but at the time no one knew the reasons why.
Since receiving help for Post Natal Depression and getting myself into a better place, which is ongoing. The weight has crept back on. I don’t do any exercise, apart from the odd walk in the woods with the girls and I eat far too much food that is not good for me.
I’ve definitely reached a point in my life, probably with me turning 40, that I feel that I want to love my body again. I’ve been looking into CoolSculpting treatment which can be done at the Pulse Light Clinic, this is a treatment that can help get rid of those bits that never want to go. Like back fat, lose belly fat and even a double chin.
There is no surgery needed or no needles, which is great to hear. It basically freezes the fat, which causes the cells to die and your body will naturally flush out the dead cells. It’s all over and done in an hour.
This is definitely appeals to me, to have the bits that I don’t love done would make such a difference to how I feel about myself.
Confidence is everything and if you feel happy in your own body, then you will naturally feel more confident.
Have you ever considered CoolSculpting?
