Starting my blog is one of the best things I have done and I really want to throw myself into every part of it that I can.
In June one of the biggest blog conferences is taking place, BritMums Live 2016. When I first heard about it, I instantly thought no way am I going. Then as time went on I thought what a great opportunity for me to learn new ‘blogging stuff’ from the sessions they will be running, plus I may get to meet some lovely bloggers too if I pluck up courage to say hello.
I mean if this was my job I would have to go and I have been to so many conferences, but for some reason this feels different. I don’t have my work colleagues to go with, to chat too and to not feel out of place. This time I would be arriving on my own and that is a little scary.
With a bit of encouragement from Alex over at Bump to Baby, I put all that aside and decided to put my big girl knickers on and buy a ticket…
Then Donna at What the Redhead said that she would meet me in London, which was really kind of her. Since then I have relaxed a bit more about going and started to look forward to it more. I told her she could ditch me when we arrive 🙂
As a bit of an ice breaker everyone that is going is taking part in a linky (a blogging term), to introduce ourselves.
So, this is me…
My name: Laura

How I look:
I look like this…
Is this my first blogging event? Yes, this will be my first ever blogging conference…eek!
I will be wearing…Well, this is a question that has been on my mind since I brought the ticket. It goes back to the whole not having colleagues, where I would be discussing this all day long. It’s my birthday the week before, so maybe I will get something new to wear.
What I hope to gain from #BML16: To meet some lovely bloggers and start to feel part of the wonderful blogging community. Oh yes and of course to learn the blogging stuff!!
My tips for a great conference: You have asked the wrong person, I have no clue! I will be telling myself to relax and try to enjoy it.
So, that is me! If you see someone that looks like the above, but probably looking a bit more nervous, please say hello…
