I’ve always had a love of interiors, I spend hours deciding the look of a room, the colours and then all the accessories, trinkets and art work that really bring the room to life. We moved into our home just over a year ago and it’s only really been the last 6 months that we’ve started to make some real changes to it.
Our bedroom was desperate to be done and it had been the neglected room for a long time. Now it’s my favourite room in the house. I love the colours, adore the furniture and it feels really cosy and peaceful at night (when the children are in bed!). There was one area of the room that wasn’t quite finished and I just couldn’t decide if a house plant would be right there or something else.
Desenio recently got in touch and asked me to show different ways in which artwork can be displayed and how it can bring some style to your home. They have some gorgeous posters and I couldn’t wait to start browsing their site.
Dusty Rose Poster
I instantly knew that what was missing from the area in bedroom is some detail and colour and a piece of artwork would look perfect. The colours in our bedroom are blush pink and grey and I fell in love with this dusty rose poster. I loved the depth to it and the colours were perfect.
It has made a rather boring space come to life and I couldn’t be more pleased with it. I think when it comes to artwork you need to think outside the box, it doesn’t always have to hung on a wall and there is so many different ways you can style a room with artwork.
Another part of the house that we’ve been changing is the family area/dining area. The trouble when you move house is that your old furniture doesn’t always fit the same and I’ve been desperate to change it. We brought the sofa as soon as we moved in, as it was January sale’s and we got a bargain. I’ve been patiently waiting to change the rest of it and what I’ve learnt with age, is that it is best to save up and wait for what you really want.
The new colour scheme in this area is navy, gold, grey and blush pink. I initially wanted to paint the wall behind the sofa, but because it continues over the top of the patio doors and into the kitchen, it would’ve meant doing it all and it just wouldn’t have looked right.
I was beginning to get a bit frustrated as I really wanted to bring some much needed colour to the walls. I then decided that wall art was the answer and to go big and bold. What I love about Desenio is they’ve got a section called the Perfect Pair, which is great when you want to 2 pieces of artwork that work well together.
Golden Horizon and Gradient Cubes Posters
I instantly loved this pair, it was all the colours of our room and the designs were gorgeous. They definitely are a Perfect Pair!
Since discovering command strips, a little tip from my cousin, hanging prints and photos on the walls has become a lot easier. I also love that we’re not banging nails into the walls.
With all Desenio posters you can choose the colour of the frames that you want. I went for gold with both of mine as they suit my room and these prints perfectly.
I can’t tell you how happy I am with this artwork, it has totally transformed this area of the room and brought some much needed style to it. This is my favourite place to snuggle up with a book.
Adding artwork to a room can totally transform it and I’m really pleased with the difference our Desenio prints have made to both of these rooms.
