We are really lucky where we live there are lots of nice places to go for a walk that are just a short drive away. I am a summer girl at heart and normally start to hibernate in the Autumn, but this year I have felt differently about Autumn. I’ve been embracing it a lot more. I don’t know if that’s because we have had a particularly nice October, but it’s been lovely.
With Alice starting school in September, Holly and I have been exploring a woods that is only down the road from the school. We pop there on the way home and its nice to get some fresh air first thing in the morning. For Holly to have a little run about and to try and spot the cows that are wandering around. The trouble is now she thinks there are cows everywhere we go!
Sometimes it would just be easier to go straight home and get on with the household jobs that are waiting for me. But, it has made me feel so much better to go for a walk, after the rush of the school run. We don’t stay long, just enough for me to feel me again and until Holly little legs are tired and she wants carrying.
I love this time with my little Holly, we are getting used to our life with Alice at school. Even though she still tells everyone we meet that Alice is at school. And her favourite part of the day is picking her up. On the drive over she constantly says ‘lets go get Alice’.
Soon this walk will be on our doorstep when we move house in a couple of weeks. I still can’t quite believe that it’s happening and that its happening really soon. But we are all really excited and in a way I just want to click my fingers and for us to be in our new home.
Thank you Autumn for giving us some lovely days. I think winter arrived today though, it was really cold out. Maybe its now time for me to hibernate and start packing the house up!
