It’s the week of love with Valentine’s Day earlier this week, did you get the gift that you’ve always wanted?
I was recently contacted by AO asking if I wanted to take part in their Valentine’s Day Gift Challenge. I had been paired up with my lovely friend Laura from Five Little Doves and I had to pick out the perfect gift to send her for Valentine’s Day. Because the gift of love isn’t just about your husband, wife, boyfriend or girlfriend. The love of a good friend is just as important in our lives.
I knew instantly what would make Laura squeal with delight, a Dyson Handheld Vacuum Cleaner. She has 4 children and I can only imagine the mess they must make at dinner time. Well hopefully not so much her eldest son, who at 14 I’m praying they are not messy eaters at that age! But her 3 younger ones probably make just as much mess as my girls, if not more.
The Dyson Handheld Vacuum Cleaner is perfect for whizzing around after meal times. Find out what Laura thought here.
I couldn’t wait to see what Laura would pick for me and when delivery day arrived, the girls were shouting it’s here mummy as the van pulled up outside.
I knew I could rely on Laura to know what I wanted (and actually needed!). I was delighted and excited (yes I get excited over household items now I’m old!) to receive the AEG Power Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. I couldn’t wait to give it a spin!
It was really easy to put together and then I had to wait an agonising 24 hours for it to charge before I could to use it. They recommend for the first charge you do it for 24 hours. You don’t have to do this every time, normally it’s only 3.5 hours to fully charge it.
It comes with a stand to put it in while it charges up. There is a place for the excess wire, which means it’s nice and neat and no danger of anyone tripping over it.
With it fully charged up, we were ready to give it a test run. With it’s 180 degree swivel head it made it easy to get around the furniture and into the gaps.
One feature I loved was it has LED headlights, in fact we all loved this. The girls thought it was brilliant. It meant I could easily see all those tiny crumbs and nothing was left behind.
The battery lasts for 60 minutes, which was more than enough time to vacuum our whole house. I mean who wants to be vacuuming for longer than that anyway! The clever Cyclonic technology left everywhere spotless, capturing more dust and dirt than our previous vacuum cleaners.
One of the features that was music to my ears as a busy mum. It has BrushRollClean technology which releases the brush roll from the cleaner head with ease, meaning I can remove tangled hair and debris in no time.
We used it on both hard floor and carpet and it was brilliant on both surfaces and it’s really lightweight to push around. There is no upholstery tool with it, which was the only drawback to it. As I like to be able to give the sofa’s a quick clean.
It’s bagless and the filter is washable which makes my life a lot easier. It was easy to unclick and empty the debris.
It’s really easy to use and I just love the fact that it’s cordless, it means I can whizz around the house a lot quicker. Let’s be honest the gift of time is always a winner for a busy parent.
You can buy the AEG Power Cordless Vacuum Cleaner from AO with a RRP of £179.
Thank you Laura for choosing me the perfect gift!
